One doesn’t pick a running mate based on demographics these days. We need co-presidents, people who can take on some of the major policy areas and run them with the full confidence of the president.

Hillary would have been an excellent co-president, but only on the top of the ticket. I don’t think she would have been an assest as No. 2, and having Bill around would have been even more difficult.

Of course, Sen. McCain doesn’t see it that way, as he has stated so very clearly. VP is a job with “official duties,” not real responsibility.

By the way, has anyone seen anything on how Gov. Palin might perform in the US Senate !?!?
