Palin, A Journalism Major, Can’t Name A News Source She Reads?

Is this a joke?

HP-Sarah Palin said she does not support the morning after pill as a form of contraception, strongly implied that homosexuality was a choice, and could not name a single source of news that she turns to for information, in yet another installment of her interview series with Katie Couric.

Appearing on CBS Evening News, the Alaska Governor seemed calmer than she had been in previous sit downs. But while she only occasionally provided the type of befuddled responses that had even conservatives scratching their heads, her interview was nevertheless shaky.

Asked what newspapers and magazines she reads, Palin – a journalism major in college – could not name one publication.

“I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media,” she said at first. Couric responded, “What, specifically?”

“Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.”

“Can you name a few?”

“I have a vast variety of source where we get our news,” Palin said. “Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested, ‘wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?’ Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.”

Palin must really scare the crap out of all you libs. Is it that you think the left should provide the women and minorities? Or just the fact that she, whether McCain wins or loses, is a future political powerhouse?

  2. Pro Life Woman says:

It’s a shame so many people think murdering the unborn is fine and dandy. Our Nation has come to a crossroads and as somebody who believes deeply that life begins at conception, I’m grateful Governor Palin is on the Republican ticket.

I believe your comment is correct Aubrey. The Governor has the purveyors of death on the run. Win, lose. or draw, she will, indeed, become a political powerhouse in years to come. I only hope it’s not to late.

Some think it’s to late to defeat the man who thinks allowing already born babies to die in a sink is acceptable. I recommend you check your politics at the door and instead, look into your heart and conscience. All of you who preach over and over about what we should always do for the children seem to have forgotten what’s really important.

I don’t often read the postings on this site, but I want you to know that your socialist ways will be the end of our republic.

It’s not to late. You can still put Senator McCain and GOvernor Palin over the top and protect the unborn.

Thank you for a reasoned, intellectual post Aubrey. God Bless you!

  3. GaPatriot says:

McCain will do nothing to protect the unborn. George W. Bush, with a Republican majority in both the House and Senate, did nothing to protect the unborn. He did many things outside the constitution, but protection of the unborn and the American citizens were not there. Don’t get me wrong, I think abortion is murder plain and simple, but it is a court decision that made it permissible. GWB could have put it on the ballot, but stuffing pockets of greedy corporate pals was more important. I voted for him twice and abortion is still very legal. Better to vote for Chuck Baldwin and maybe go out and protest in front of an abortion clinic for a better opportunity to change the fate of the unborn. Sarah Palin is deeply flawed by the very fact that she agreed to run with John McCain, who is a traitor. I heard her on Hannity blaming Americans for the financial crisis – I am not in debt and have not caused this crisis – she and the rest of government are the ones who caused this problem. McCain and Obama both are ignoring the elephant in the room – the jobs were outsourced, illegals insourced, incomes fell like a rocket, the housing market went bust, and suddenly we have a financial crisis. Corporate facism is the cause of this. And nothing will change by either of them, including rampant abortion.

    You guys are nuts.

Palin scares me just like Bush scares me.

They are both idiots who are unqualified to be in the White House.

The only difference between Palin and Bush is that Bush has proven that he can destroy the U.S.

Now you fools want to give Palin a shot at finishing us off.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

Pro Life Woman, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you are the socialist.

You’re a Christian Socialist. Look it up. You may find that their beliefs appeal to you.

The economy is crashing, we’ve got two wars going on, and your big issue is what grown women do with the blastocysts developing in their uterus. They are not babies.

“He [Jesus] accompanied me in difficult times, in crucial moments. So Jesus Christ is no doubt a historical figure— he was someone who rebelled, an anti-imperialist guy. He confronted the Roman Empire. Because who might think that Jesus was a capitalist? No. Judas was the capitalist, for taking the coins! Christ was a revolutionary. He confronted the religious hierarchies. He confronted the economic power of the time. He preferred death in the defense of his humanistic ideals, who fostered change. He is our Jesus Christ.”

    ~ Hugo Chavez

I just love it when leaders mix religion with governance. A real recipe for success.

I think that I am the last on this site who still argues against the hammers and sickles. Thanks for your comment and don’t let the central planners’ comments get you down!

  7. captain_menace says:

You are the central planner Aubrey.

The rest of us are simply saying that we don’t need government regulating our private parts. We’ll leave that to your party.

    Aubrey,

Palin must really scare the crap out of all you libs.

She scares the beejezus out of every thinking American, not just liberals.

Is it that you think the left should provide the women and minorities? Or just the fact that she, whether McCain wins or loses, is a future political powerhouse?

All of the above! Why should the whack-o right wingnuts find support among those they hate?

  9. Aubrey says:

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!!!1

  10. Pro Life Woman says:

    Mr Konop,

You ask an unreasonable question. You’re working from the premise that abortion is good because it cuts down on healthcare needs. Using that logic, genocide is good because it cuts down on healtcare needs as well.

I mean no offense, but that’s a fool’s arguement. In other words, you can’t get there from here. First and foremost, the rights of the CHILD must be protected. What follows BIRTH is a question for another day. Abortion in the United States is being used as a birth control tool and nothing more.

People like the badly informed person who claims the “blatocysts” are not babies simply doesn’t know what he/she is talking about, nor has he/she seen an 8-week old baby fighting for life. I have – on a number of occasions.

I also found the comments of Mr. O’Rear interesting. I haven’t read an awful lot of postings here, but I seem to recall him saying that all these loans to unqualified home buyers was a good thing. I’ll admit it’s quite some time back (about a year or do?) but I believe it was during a debate regarding equal rights for all or something along those lines. You had quite a list of statistical data if memory serves, Mr. O’Rear.

I understand you have something to do with economics and the far east, and while you may be quite successful in that, your economic analysis of the current crisis couldn’t have been more wrong. Please understand, I mean no offense, I’m simply stating a fact that you were incorrect in your assumptions and your statistics proved to be nothing more than a list of numbers that meant nothing.

Aubrey, thank you for the kind reply. One day people will begin to realize that abortion is simply unfettered murder of the unborn. I pray they come to this realization sooner rather than later.

    Pro Life Woman

I never said I supported abortion to lower healthcare cost. This was my point and please read and comment.

    Pro-Birth or Pro-Life?
Sadie Fields from the Georgia Christian Alliance has been consistently out spoken about the rights of unborn children. Sadie has made it clear that pro-choice Americans are supporting a parent’s the right to murder a child.

Yet when it comes to the welfare of those children fortunate enough to be born, Sadie is willfully blind to how denial of needed healthcare could result in death for the child or the mother. How can she be so outspoken about a child’s right to be born, yet so quiet about a child’s right to life-saving healthcare?

I am shocked that Sadie rejects proposals like those from Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton that require everyone to buy health insurance (similar to the requirement to buy car insurance). Why isn’t Sadie screaming for healthcare solutions that make sure every child is protected and parents are held responsible!

Instead, Sadie fights for unborn children, but then shamefully quits the fight after birth-which accounts for only 4% of childhood.

    The Truth about Healthcare

The problem is the intellectual dishonesty of lawmakers from both parties. In truth, we already have a dysfunctional form of socialized medicine, consisting of programs like Peach Care and “free” healthcare from hospital emergency rooms.

The bottom line is this: as fewer and fewer employers provide health insurance, fewer people actually contribute to the system. This is a recipe for cost increases, tax increases, declining quality of service, and ultimately system-wide bankruptcy. That is, unless we take action to increase the number of people paying into the system.

That is why I support mandatory-pay health insurance for people who can afford it. We cannot continue to have a system that burdens tax payers and people who do buy health insurance with the costs for people who choose not to.

Children Win When We Create a System That:

Lets employers and individuals have the option of buying into the same public health insurance plan lawmakers, vets, and federal workers receive. This would create public vs. private competition-let’s see who wins (my money’s on private insurance).
Eliminates all exclusions for pre-existing conditions, which would encourage money-saving preventive medicine. Most experts agree that each dollar spent on preventative care saves ten dollars down the road.
Provides some public assistance for those people that can’t afford to buy health insurance for their children or themselves.
Requires people making poor life-choice behaviors (i.e. smoking, drug addiction, obesity) to pay a bit extra-giving them an incentive to improve their health.

No, you are wrong Pro Life Woman. I am informed, and unswayed by religious ideology.

And I wish I could have been there to witness an 8 week-old embryo struggling to do anything outside of the womb. The thing is a little bigger than a grape and would definitely die quickly outside of the womb. You lied about what you witnessed.

For all you innocent bystanders out there, this is what an 8 week-old embryo looks like

    Exagerrate much Pro Life Woman?

BTW, the World Health Organization notes that an embryo is “not viable” prior to 21 weeks of dvelopment. Just thought you might want to be informed. No need to thank me for educating you, it’s the least I can do.

Gotta know who your dealing with here. Let me help out.

John is a good guy who likes to ask provocative questions. That’s his deal. He’s tough to figure though, because he sits right on the fence.

Captain Menace is a fairly intelligent sort – it’s just that he lets his hammer and sickle get in the way of more rational thought. He’s coming along though.

Bill is the witty one. He’s the one in the group who really enjoys the “Farside” comic strip, if you know what I mean. Usually good for frank opinions, too.

GaPatriot loves to identify the traitors in the country. Of course, that means Bush and Cheney. I’d pick Susan Sarandon before them, but hey, it’s not my show.

David O’Rear is the race police and hero to all who are not white and/or American. (He must feel very guilty.) Careful of what you say.

This is a great place to hear what the leftist preachers say to the leftist choirs, to say the least.

  18. Bill says:

McCain answered a softball question from the religious guy (forget his name) as to when fetus rights start. “From conception?” was his answer (or question) I’m not sure about “rights” but I think moms should still be held accountable for criminal negligence when babies are born with fetal alcohol syndrome and other maladies. Also, when a fetus dies in a car accident, rape, ect…I think most would support criminal penalties. And let’s extend this criminal culpability to large corporations who push vaccines and poisons such as the HPV vaccine and aspartame. Both have been linked to a large list of problems including autism and death.

  19. Bill says:

Talk about thread stopper. You see there? Nothing from the Christian conservatives. Nothing against aspartame or HPV.

  20. Bill says:

    Nothing against torture…
