ExxonMobil continuing to fund climate sceptic groups?
Hidden agenda?
G-Records show ExxonMobil gave hundreds of thousands of pounds to lobby groups that have published ‘misleading and inaccurate information’ about climate change
The world’s largest oil company is continuing to fund lobby groups that question the reality of global warming, despite a public pledge to cut support for such climate change denial, a new analysis shows.
Company records show that ExxonMobil handed over hundreds of thousands of pounds to such lobby groups in 2008. These include the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) in Dallas, Texas, which received $75,000 (£45,500), and the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC, which received $50,000.

John,
Do you think the Heritage Group has a “hidden agenda” when it comes to the myth of global warming?
Do you also think the Heritage Group had a “hidden agenda” when you referenced them daily during the illegal immigration reform bill debate?
It would be naïve to think Exxon does not have an agenda with this issue! Why else would they spend the money? How does using less energy help Exxon?
“published ‘misleading and inaccurate information’ about climate change”
John,
I’m curious, apparently the Heritage Foundation is on your hit list – what misleading info have they published ?
No one is my hit list in fact I have read and enjoy material from the Heritage Foundation. But I am always suspicious of paid studies from the private sector no mater what side it is on.
Except when the paid study supports John’s position, i.e. the HF/Richter report on immigration.
