Anti-immigration groups go green?

Do you agree?

Politico-Readers of the Nation and other left-leaning magazines may have noticed a new addition to the usual advertisements — full-page advocacy ads by an ad hoc coalition of anti-immigration organizations.

The ads place the blame for traffic and sprawl, frequent villains for urban-oriented members of the left, on population growth, another such villain. The kicker? That population growth is blamed on immigration.

One ad features a picture of a bulldozer plowing through a pristine forest over the headline, “One of America’s Best Selling Vehicles.” Below the picture, the ad says, “You can find big earthmoving equipment throughout America, turning our most picturesque land into suburban sprawl, while adding to some of the worst traffic problems in the world. But traffic is just one of the problems facing America as a result of population growth wildly out of control.”

One Response to “Anti-immigration groups go green?”

  1. Bill Says:

The neocons have done their part to continue this phony “left/right paradigm” with name calling ect… and plenty of “leftists” do the same thing, especially the “official thinkers” and “gatekeepers” on both sides. However out here in the real world most people are concerned about many of the same problems. Here’s a guy who keeps it real without the talking points and without racial or religious baiting. And the best part is he’s not “gettin’ paid” and he’s somewhat entertaining too. No hidden agendas here.
