Ever since gasoline prices crossed most people’s pain threshold earlier this year, the hunt for scapegoats has been in full swing. First it was oil executives, who were hauled before congressional committees, just as they are every time prices go up. Then came speculators, who were supposedly driving up prices by bidding up the price of oil on commodities markets.

John McCain’s television ad (”Pump”) provides important insights into who is best equipped as president to lead America’s economy in the 21st century. The ad focuses on one of the most pressing issues facing our families and businesses: what will happen to the future price of gasoline.

Multiply the number of years necessary to realize a single drop of new oil from untapped domestic reserves.
Divide by the savings generated by driving on highways at 50mph, as compared to 70mph.
Add the results to the square root of Sen. McCain’s IQ.
The answer is the amount, in gallons per person, of fuel wasted in America because we don’t tax gasoline enough.

Multiply the number of deaths this winter by the number of barrels of oil not obtained from our country.
Divide by the number of years Socialist Democrats backed by Eco-Socialist have been preventing drilling.
Add the results to the square root of the sum of Harry and Nancy’s I.Q.
The answer is people are dying as the result of fictitious environmental claims. The lemmings on the left are going to suffer along with the rest of us.
