A Better Definition of Health Care
A resource is a stock or supply of money, materials, staff and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organization in order to function effectively.
Health care is a mutual trust developed between doctor and patient and is aptly defined as the doctor—patient relationship. It does not fulfill the definition of resource, a combination of which are simply tools to be used to make health care an effective function.
A function is an activity or purpose natural to or intended for a person or thing. The natural, intended activity of health care is the doctor—patient relationship, which decides and effectuates the work to be accomplished.
Continuing with the view that health care is a resource leaves us floundering and flailing in the dollar-green quagmire, which is our current health care system. To direct, control and subordinate the resources is the key to making health care an effective function for everyone.
