John,

Making a statement and supporting are two different things.

You're great at making statements. Just like Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, the neocons, the GOP, Newt, Libby, Duke Cunningham, Tom DeLay, Ralph Reed, Abramoff ...

Let's see you support your alligator mouth.

How big is the "underground economy" and how much of it will ever be captured in tax dollars?

How do you tax "wealth" with a consumption tax?

I don't expect you to be able to answer either question. It's not within your abilities.

Al

As you know I was not for going into Iraq.

Now lets talk taxes the write off loopholes mainly go to the interest of large multi- National Corporation that lobby both sides. Also we have a large underground economy that pays no federal taxes.

That is why a system that eliminates all write off would benefit the average guy by killing lobbyist buying tax incentives from Congress. And by having a low income tax you would attract business.

And by having a national sales tax the system this would end up taxing wealthier people more by taxing consumption. Also this would add revenue by taxing the underground economy.

John,

Honestly, you're a nice guy. You don't know Konop about taxation, economic systems, and being a fast food worker.

The spending of over $300 for a war that can't be won.

That is helping to make average American less average Americans.

Increasing the federal debt $3.3 trillion dollars in 6 years, THAT is helping to make average Americans, less average.

Manipulations of the dollar's value to make our exports cheaper, THAT is making Average Americans less than average.

The Fair Tax is a bunch of angry Southerners who want to destroy the Federal Government. It's racism. It's white supremacy. It's some sort of belief that the South shall rise again.

It has nothing to do with being FAIR!

The first year under the "screw the Federal Government" FAIR TAX PLAN will increase the federal debt $1.4 trillion dollars.

A national sales tax will not provide a steadily increasing tax base to pay off the long term debt! Why would any fiscal conservative vote to increase debt at least 11 percent a year?

And, that's in a good year! If retail sales fall, all bets are off on how fast the federal government will fall.

Taxation must match the underlying economic system.

In capitalism American style, the rich ARE the people getting the most from government. Not the poor. Not the sick. Not the average person.

The average person, John, just wants a job. Retirement. A car that doesn't break down and then cost a $1,000 to fix!

When they have a toothache, they want to be able to see a dentist.

When their child has a fever, they want to be able to see a doctor!

The average person, John. Do you know any? They want to get married, get pregnant, have children, live in a nice neighborhood.

The average person, John!

They don't buy a new BMW. They buy the used Chrysler or Ford or Toyota.

The average person isn't buying the average new house. The average price of a house is over $300,000! That's not for a NEW house. That's for all houses.

The average new house costs $800,000!

John, the average family can't buy the average new car, the average new house, pay the average college tuition.

And, what do you think about? The tax system is screwed up and other countries are using slave labor to make underwear!

You're more out of touch with average people than Dick Ficking Cheney!

I told you I do not agree with the current tax system. I do think a hybrid between a fair tax and a low income tax with no write offs would be a better system.

But the tax system will not fix cheap overseas labor with no human rights. That is what is driving wages down for working class people.

Cap'n,

Borrowing money and running an extremely long term debt is worse, far worse, than taxing those people who have seen their income increase by an average of 14 percent duing the Bushie years.

(While 90 percent of Americans lost earning power)

Konop is always whinning about the loss of earning power ...

but never wants to admit the structural mechanisms that transfer wealth from the 90% of hard working Americans to the top 2%.

John,

Did you run out of fingers and toes?

And, was that a question or an exclamation?

Regardless of whether it's Democrats or Republicans someone must figure out how to bring down the debt. I say turn up the tax heat and let Americans reassess their comfort level with runwaway pork. Without some pain Americans will just sit and take it.

Pelosi and Hoyer both spoke to this on the floor of the House, and this is what it is:

Repeal of the tax cuts for the top 2% of earners

Tax cuts for the middle class.

If anyone is against those two things, then have at it.
