Gonzo has done nothing wrong…

What has he done right?

Why are we talking about his failure to perform and if those failures mean termination?

Why aren’t we talking about what he has done right?

Could it be that he hasn’t done anything right?

I’m still trying to decide whether Fredo is still AG because of what he could tell if Bush cut him loose, if Bush doesn’t want to submit a new AG nominee to the Senate because of the strings that might be tied to him (like upholding the Constitution), or because he really Fredo is doing what he should.

God help us if it’s the last reason.

It’s the mob mentality in action. Bush was proud of Gonzo for not talking. That’s how simple all this is.

This is an authoritarian regime that considers itself answerable to no one, and the fact that Gonzo made himself look like an idiot for the sake of his boss is (to Bush) enough of a reason to back him 100%.

The facts in this case have nothing to do with why Bush says what he does. It is much more simple than that.

It is absolutely hilarious to see dems trash this guy after defending Janet Reno for 8 years. Gonzalez is not the best, most qualified for the position, but dem leaders made their bed with Reno who abused the office often to cover up Clinton misdeeds. Maybe it’s time to eliminate the office (or make it an elected position).

I think Bush is backing him because he is loyal to Bush. Sad to see someone in this position not able to defend himself well and to come off looking pretty incompentent.
