Clinton points out waste in No Child Left Behind

As most of you know I think No Child Left Behind has been a complete failure for our educational system, at the expense of our children, while enriching companies that donate to lawmakers. Yet with that said, the solution by Hillary Clinton of further FEDERAL and STATE involvement is a recipe for disaster. Why not let local schools take responsibility and control of their own district? Why do we think a one-size-fits-all education system will work?

Yahoo-Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday criticized the Bush administration for outsourcing teaching to private tutoring companies, arguing that many firms have close ties to Republicans

“This is Halliburton all over again,” the New York senator said.

The 2002 No Child Left Behind Act requires school districts to provide free tutoring in math and reading to poor children in schools that repeatedly fail to meet state testing standards. Clinton said that amounts to $500 million a year being paid to tutoring companies and other supplemental service providers that aren’t held accountable.

    I long for the day when a candidate steps up and says what no one wants to hear. American parents are responsible for the shitty state of American education. Parents should be the primary source of education; the government should help to augment that education.

    When was the last time you saw the government create a “quality” anything?

    No Child left behind has become a joke. So now we have kids programmed by political correctness, and the smart impatient ones are medicated, the slower ones are coddled, and everyone is supposed to be “equal”. And looks like good tutors are probably not allowed unless they’re “corporate”. Big government together with big business cranking out industrialized atomatons who don’t question authority. And they probably eat cruddy hamburgers too.
