Democracy working in Iraq

Al-Maliki faces revolt within government
By HAMZA HENDAWI, Associated Press Writer 31 minutes ago
“Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki faced a widening revolt within his divided government as two senior Sunni politicians joined prominent Shiite lawmakers and Cabinet members in criticizing his policies.
Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi said he wanted to see al-Maliki’s government gone and another “understanding” for a new coalition put in place with guarantees that ensure collective decision making.”
Nothing new in Iraq.
But, it does remind me of a very good book from Australia, “Everybody wants to be the Fuhrer.”
My apologies to Australia. The book is real but it covers the underground Neo-Nazi movement. If I remember any details, about 800 of the Neo-Nazi groups that have formed in Australia were investigated. Each had a membership of one. Yup. The Fuhrer and no followers.
Back to the AP story, if collectivism replaces democracy, and I’m not sure the Coalition of the Willing ever had democracy up and running, isn’t collectivism of this type called … I don’t know …. Fascism?
A council with broad representation of all ethnic groups gets together and makes a decision that is absolute and binding on all ethic groups?
Fascism.

If all ethnic groups are genuinely and fairly represented on the council, and they all agree to a decision that affects them all, how is this considered fascism?

Chris,
That’s the big IF, isn’t it?
All I have to do is pack the council and I have absolute power.
Let’s say we have 1 Green guy, 1 Red guy, and 1 Blue guy. The Green guy and the Red guy agree to kill all the Blue guys EXCEPT for the one on the council. The Blue guy on the council agrees. Or, they agree to kill all the Red guys that refuse to become Green guys?
Then, what if there are no women on the council? Or just one woman to represent all women?
Just because the council has one member from each ethnic group doesn’t mean the council members will fairly represent each ethnic group.
To be openly racist, why don’t you explain these terms to me?
Uncle Tom
Oreo
Wigger
Redneck

So this representation fascism council … is that anything like neocons claiming that they represent conservatives in our Congress?

Chris,
I don’t know. But, I think not.
There has to be an ethnic component.
Is conservative an ethnic group? I mean, do you by birth become a conservative?
Or is it more like a religious sect? Anyone can join the congregation?
If conservative is more like a religious sect, then absolutely no.
It would be more like Benedict Arnold claiming to be a founding father prior to selling out to the British.
