Gravel: ‘I’m going to hammer Dems on corruption of money’
Do you think Gravel is right that “any political science professor will tell you that the corruption of money is a huge problem”? Should the media be reporting more about how money is corrupting the system?
From Mike Gravel
USATODAY
• “I think I’m doing well for what resources we have. It’s just like the tortoise and the hare. I don’t have to be first now. I have to be first next January (when primaries and caucuses begin) and I plan to be first next January.”
• “The mainstream media look at the race and say ‘these people (the leading Democrats) have raised so much money’ ” that the second- and third-tier candidates must stand no chance. “But any political science professor will tell you that the corruption of money is a huge problem. … Talking about how much money they’ve raised — said another way it’s talking about how corrupt they are.”
• “One thing I’m going to do — raising these obscene amounts of money to manipulate the election is a liability (for the other candidates) and I’m going to hammer them on it.”

Political success = corruption, is that the theme?
Hmm, I thought popularity had a role to play, but I guess not when you’re falling behind.
If he took a good look at the Bush/Clinton cabal he might just RUN AWAY SCREAMING!!!
Those who can’t raise money ALWAYS complain about the corruption of money…political axiom #1.
Gravel is the Paul of the dems, no money, no chance, but a soapbox to stand on and complain about the unfairness of freedom when it comes to elections. While somewhat entertaining, these type candidacies grow stale fast.
