House Resolution in Praise of Rush Limbaugh!!!
GA Rep. Jack Kingston is getting really, really, really mad that people are picking on his buddy Rush Limbaugh over the “phony” soldier story, so he’s submitted a resolution praising the on-air addict. Perhaps they could make a quick amendment to include: Resolved, that Rush Limbaugh has continuously fostered interracial understanding with songs like Barack the Magic Negro.
NRO: “Commending Rush Hudson Limbaugh III for his ongoing public support of American troops serving both here and abroad. Thanking Mr. Limbaugh for his relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions.”

“songs like Barack the Magic Negro”
ZOMG that was really funny when I listened to it. It’s not like he coined the term “magic negro”. It was in the NY times or something.
Rush is really funny.
My favorite one is where he has a spoof on John Edwards signing “I am woman!”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Limbaugh is phoney, so-called “conservative” propagandist. Certainly he has done some good, but he has protected the establishment for years. He heavily screens his callers so that true patriots rarely get through to the airwaves!
My favorite is when a dumb liberal calls up and gets one sentence out and then he mutes them and uses their stupid one sentance to make them and the entire democrat party look like simpering children.
OMG I LOVE THAT!
I think control congress needs to listen to Rush more and you guys NEED A MUTE BUTTON!
I always listen until you guys argue over each other and then I can’t stand it and I switch channels.
Last week there were three people talking at the same time. Holeee crap.
(BTW, Hugh, I’d have agreed with that statement if you were talking about someone like Hugh Hewitt… but I’ve heard Rush take on the Republican establishment too many times for your statement to have any credibility!)
Anyone who reads the transcript and decides that Rush’s description “phony soldiers” was referring to all soldiers who don’t politically agree with the war… anyone drawing such a conclusion is a total idiot.
That is NOT at all what Rush said. One has to put words in Rush’s mouth to reach that conclusion.
Sure, he was referring in general to the fact that many of the soldiers who make it into news programs to criticize the war are often “drummed up” because are not representative of the typical soldiers’ view. And that is a fair point.
If the news media wanted to randomly interview 20 soldiers, they’ll probably get one, two, or three who oppose the decision to go to war. And if they played all 20 interviews, that would be great. But we all know that the mainstream news organizations seek to promote a political agenda that isn’t compatible with such fairness.
After referring to “phony soldiers” in general… and without clarifying very much exactly what he meant by that.. Rush then goes on to illustrate an extreme example of a solider who served several months, never left the States… but then claimed to have witnessed atrocities committed by Americans soldiers in Iraq. Moreover, this soldier claimed service time in Iraq and rank that never happened. Yet his lies about the war were highly published in the mainstream news media and was translated and published in Arabic newspapers… thus throwing fuel on the fire and, no doubt, at least one more soldier in Iraq is probably dead today who would otherwise be alive if this travesty didn’t occur… probably dozens actually!
By Rush giving this example after talking about “phony soldiers” in general, he thus clarified what he meant by that term.
Yet he NEVER once said anything that even implied that this term should apply to all soldiers who disagree with the war. On the contrary, he have a specific example of a soldier who bald-face lied about his experiences in the war and was used by the media to promote their agenda.
The reason that Rush is challenging Reid to “say it to my face” is because he will then have a field day in court when Reid then (rightly) gets convicted of slander or libel.
When Reid makes these pronouncements from Congress, he can spew out whatever lies he wants because he is immune from slander and libel laws when they come from the Senate chamber.
If Reid is correct, he should have no fear in making such statements outside of that shield of immunity.
Yeah
Phony soldiers magic negros. We get it. There’s always a rational explanation. The magic negro thing is because as Hugh said he’s establishment and he’ll help Hillary in a roundabout way before supporting Ron Paul. Just like all the establishment Republicans on this blog.
Bill,
When you say “we get it”, I highly doubt it. You seem to have lost all context.
Anyone can pull a label or title out of context and make false assumptions… and “the mob” will often take the bait and side with you… but that doesn’t make your conclusions accurate.
For one, does anyone conclude that he particular solider Rush was referring to was anything but a “phony soldier”?
And is it not damaging to our national security when such a phoney solider receives a platform from which to accuse our troups of attrocities that they didn’t actually commit?
Like I said I get it. I was a ditto head for a long time. Remember Rita x? How about “I put a spell on you”. But hey it’s OK it’s a black singer. The phony soldier thing? Yeah I’m sure he was phony. You can guarantee that that particular soldier was phony. Guarantee it.
Well if take into account that this was a Georgia representative who submitted the resolution it really isn’t such a shocking headline.
Rob,
Do you agree with Rush that no “real Republican” does not support the Iraq war?
LOL! You leftists continue to crack me up! Rush is a “talk show” host. Are you southpaws worried he’ll tip the balance against you? You people need to get a grip! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for “Hugh,” I’ve read a number of your posts and all I can say is get some help. There is no conspiracy behind every door. You seem to think the only people capable of doing anything are White-Anglo-Saxon Protestants. I know you deny your bigotry against blacks, jews, and anyone other than WASPs, but the tenor of your comments betrays that denial.
Sometimes you post sensible arguements, but generally, your posts are narrow and bigotted.

At least as Congress continues to introduce meaningless resolutions, they are not finding new ways to spend our money.
bb- As usual, you add something of value to the discussion!

John,
Before I comment… could you provide some context… like a link to a dialog on Rush’s site containing that statement.
Certainly, enough phrases have obviously been pulled out of context from Rush lately and I don’t want to commit the same offense!

It was from a link video off this post.
Limbaugh: Only “phony soldiers” support U.S. withdrawal
September 29th, 2007 by LeftHook
Sgt. Rush Limbaugh, a former medic with the Army’s 101st Medicated Division (the Fightin’ Blow Hards) relies on his years of military service to discern which soldiers in Iraq are “real” and which are “phony”.

You and Rush should read the book All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten.
It would teach you guys how to play nice.
Rob,
This puts it in context (John fails to get it right for the 935th time in his ongoing effort to distance himself from the GOP after attempting to infiltrate our party as a candidate for the 6th district last year):

John,
That explains it John, you stopped learning before grade 1.
Is Rush on or off his meds?
Check and Mate John! Now you sound EXACTLY like one of your heroes. You know the one John…..Tom “I never met a socialist spending bill I didn’t like AND vote for” Harkin.
Get a grip John. Try thinking for yourself instead of listening to the loony left liberals you worship.
