Huckabee’s Role In Serial Rapist’s Release

This was sent to me by one of our many readers! Is this a fair attack on Huckabee?

HP- As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.

Confidential Arkansas state government records, including letters from these women, obtained by the Huffington Post and revealed publicly for the first time, directly contradict the version of events now being put forward by Huckabee.

While on the campaign trail, Huckabee has claimed that he supported the 1999 release of Wayne Dumond because, at the time, he had no good reason to believe that the man represented a further threat to the public. Thanks to Huckabee’s intervention, conducted in concert with a right-wing tabloid campaign on Dumond’s behalf, Dumond was let out of prison 25 years before his sentence would have ended.

“There’s nothing any of us could ever do,” Huckabee said Sunday on CNN when asked to reflect on the horrific outcome caused by the prisoner’s release. “None of us could’ve predicted what [Dumond] could’ve done when he got out.”

FOX-Mike Huckabee Defends Role in Parole of Convicted Rapist Who Went on to Kill

New Republican presidential frontrunner Mike Huckabee is “categorically” denying that while governor of Arkansas he tried to pressure the parole board to release a convicted rapist who later went on to rape and murder a Missouri woman.

Huckabee, who is surging in recent primary polls, has been called on to defend his record, following reports that he played an active role in seeking the release of prisoner Wayne Dumond.

“No. I did not. Let me categorically say that I did not,” Huckabee said Tuesday, adding that while governor he denied a request for Dumond’s commutation.

I told you that Huckabee had a Willie Horton problem. It’s worse than Willie Horton actually because he caved into the clinton crazies and overruled the parole board for Drummond.

  2. bb says:

The release should have been preceeded by castration…then there would be no doubt.

I think they should get life! The truth is we have no cure for this!

  4. bb says:

Yes we do…death, immediate, no 20 years of appeals…if there is a DNA match and incontrovertible evidence, then kill the bastards in the most inhumane way possible (maybe even put them through a water-board session prior to death…).

  5. David O'Rear says:

    Swift boat the bastard!
    Ruin his reputation!
    Do a GOPer on him!

bb is stuck on the 19th century notion that rape is a crime of passion, rather than one of violence.

  6. bb says:

No David, but I am stuck on the 19th century notion of punishment…starting with the rapists and child molestors.

    He must have used Viagra.
