captain menace,

What does Cigna's lobbying expense prove? Is this figure out of line with all other lobbyists firms? What is Cigna lobbying for? What has been the cost/benefit ratio of Cigna's lobbying efforts to its bottom line?

Typical leftist knee jerk response. $290,000 means nothing until deciphered placed in its context. Dig in- you might learn something.

captain menace,

You know NOTHING about our health care system. Stick your head back in the sand.

Bill,

I agree with your posts. But, let's not forget that the biggest supporters and enablers of lobbyists are our elected officials. It just amazes me when people cry out for more regulation as if we have independent, non biased, objective elected officials who abide by their constitutional responsibilities to represent the people who put them there. Lobbyists rule our government and until we get serious about breaking those ties (i.e., term limits, public hearings versus closed door meetings, etc.), I don't trust the government to do what's best for the American people. AND, corporations are but one of the entities lobbying our government, NGOs, unions, academia, advocacy groups and the like have as much, if not more influence, to eat away our tax dollars, erode our freedoms and rights and threaten our national security.

EQUAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL shows the path for achieving good reform of our health care system. The approach taken places the occurrence of health care, the occurrence of sound, ongoing doctor---patient relationships, as the most important goal. By making the degree of penetration of the doctor---patient relationship into every American community the new bottom line for our health care system and by placing the dollar bill into a secondary, supportive role for that, EQUAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL should diminish the greed accomplishing effect of corporatocracy in our health care system.

We need less government not more. (pssst. It always helps to qualify this with conservatives when criticizing an industry) But when the industry with the lobbyists helps write the regs. (Deregulation is what Reagan conservatism is about) and the big players start doing the same thing instead of competing you've probably got market collusion. What you need is decentralization and de-regulation. And a government that doesn't roll over for corporate consolidation. This is happening in every industry: Media, medical, the internet, agriculture, food, oil, ect...Because the "Laissez Fair" approach doesn't work when the regs are a barrier to entry for the small companies.

Ah yes....another "informed" opinion from menonymous.

It would be most impressive if you added the odd fact from time to time if you're going to continue inserting your tripe into the discussion. Clearly, you know less about healthcare delivery than you do oil exploration.

Now go ahead and wow all of us with your "witty" retorts reminiscent of an 8-year old who can't have what he wants.
