Hillary is likely no more racist than Obama is sexist.

But does anyone really want to test that theory?

Obama the unknown socialist is both worrisome and fascinating. But what is more annoying to me is that there has now been two, maybe three generations of white americans to grow up scratching their heads about all these claims of racism and discrimination. I'm 50 and grew up in Georgia playing football and hanging out with blacks. The Jackson and Sharpton race pimps of the world have perpetuated this problem but the GOP has failed to "reach out" (God I hate that phrase). We had a wonderful black candidate for US Senate named Herman Cain who frightened the good ole boy core and was subsequently shunned. There has been an unwillingness on behalf of the GOP to tap into ROCK STARS like HERMAN. Conservatives and the country will pay the price for this.

Well, we know that Black Americans were making more progress before 1963 than after. However, that isn't discussed. Racial barriers were falling prior to 1963 and while some people were helped by the government, more ended up dependent on government.

Lefthook, don't confuse good intentions and short term results with longer term negatives. The Black community was actually hurt more than helped as people like Bill Cosby, and other Black leaders have pointed out by making them dependent on government.

Was there injustice, prejudice, oppression? Of course and a lot of it. But, that was being erroded and through the efforts of people like Dr. King, American people were changing their attitudes.

So, it was natural for them to seek "a government solution" but, as usual, like with Social Security, Medicare, the war on Drugs, the war on poverty, they sought solutions at the wrong level of government.

Ignorant people, traditions, and laws, which are anathema to the Declaration of Ind. and the Constitution, have nothing to do with ability. I don't know much about the man, but I do know that Booker Washington was one who wanted to earn his own way - not to be handed life on a silver platter because he was black.

By saying that employers must hire a certain quota of minority people, whatever the demographic, is a racist or sexist idea. Why do women need a helping hand? There are more women graduating college than men. The idea that black men need an edge to be on the same level suggests that black men are not as able. That idea is absurd! Programs that focus on race serve to do two things: 1) provide the "lesser" group an excuse for mediocrity and exemtion of personal responsibility, and 2) to perpetuate racial tension.

Aubrey: Let's say your neighbor isn't allowed to vote, attend the same school, or drink from the same water fountain as you.

Is that a level playing field? Is that OK with you?
