I hear a lot of ranting and raving but no sane, rational discussion. One only has to look at Canada to know that Socialized medicine does not work. Our medical system is a runaway system with inflated costs. A lot of people cannot even afford needed surgery because their insurance requires a 20 % copay for both the doctor and the hospital. The system needs an overhaul. May be the problem could be associated with the control that Rockefeller and Carnegie have had over the AMA and the medical universities since 1910.

Yeah like maintaining the infrastructure (roads and bridges) and providing for the common defense (like say defending the nation against foreign invasion) Baby steps. That’s what we need from the government. Do we get this? No we don’t.

I agree that we may need a “band aid” for this. However I’m opposed to giving “socialists” (which I think are a minority in this country) any momentum. Also keep in mind that these programs just “feed the beast” so to speak. Once again through revolving doors ect… by funding social programs we’re also helping destroy free market activity. (in my opinion)
