Is the fix in for McCain?
Huckabee is not conceding the Washington primary because the Washington GOP refused to count all the votes. Presumably they were trying to spare McCain the loss of all three primaries yesterday.
TPM: As you know, John McCain lost two of the three contests yesterday. He was losing narrowly in Washington state and then pulled ahead by a narrow margin (less than two points) toward the end. But then with 87% of the returns counted, the Washington state GOP, which runs the caucuses stopped releasing results. That left us and a lot of other news organizations in a bit of a quandary last night since it looked like McCain was going to pull it off. But as late as 1:30 AM on the east coast promised new results kept failing to materialize.
Then over night the Washington state GOP put out a press release announcing McCain the winner based on the 87% returns. Now, I think it would be borderline for a media organization to declare one candidate a winner when the margin separating first and second was 1.8% with 13% of the results still uncounted. But for the officials holding the election to declare the result on that basis is simply bizarre. But that’s what they did.
The release says final results are not expected to be available until Monday.

They are afraid a “Huckabee” might win in the fall. They want McCain so they are assured of a loss. I don’t think Huckabee can win but, why take a chance he might. Nominate McCain.

McCain has the nomination, it’s over. The conspiracy theories while I am sure provide endless enteratainment for some, mean nothing.
Huckabee has to get over 83% of the remaining delegates to come close…ain’t gonna happen.
Get used to it…McCain v. Obama.
I sure hope it is McCain. That just about guarantees a loss and complete control by Democrats. The the nation can see what their power will do for America. They won’t like it but, they will get to see what it does.
I think we might even see a brief period of seemingly improving conditions but, before the first term is over, a real crisis developing. Then the people may see that neither party has been good and demand they both reform. At least we can hope the voters demand reform.

It doesn’t matter whether it is McCain or Huck…Obama is set to be the next president.
During Obama’s four years, we can expect to see Bush tax cuts sunset, surrender to terrorists, government healthcare for all and at least one attack on American soil by islamic radicals(we will need the government healthcare to handle caualties).
It will be a costly wakeup call, but there is no choice since the GOP suffered a massive brain fart in the primaries.

I think you may be right about Obama and that it will be costly.
However, I would prefer him over Hillary. His seeking of Volkker for advice was a pleasant surprise. Also, suppose the crisis is worse by the time he takes office and it is obvious there is no money for social programs.
If he started reforming social security (I believe the main reason dems haven’t is that they didn’t want GOP to get credit) and Medicare and while sunsetting Bush’s tax cuts, listened to Rangel and cut corporate taxes, the damage to the GOP ever getting back in power would be huge.
Yes, he would have to keep the health care promise on hold for a while but, the voters, seeing the damage the crisis was causing, would allow it.
The chances of that happening are probably slim but, I would expect it more likely from him than from Clinton.

Regarding conspiracy theories. I think of a “conspiracy” as something done in secret that nobody is aware of until after the conspiracy is carried out.
Take the “North American Union.” There are no secrets. NAFTA has a lot of information. The North American Super Corridor site has listed its government grants, goals, progress, etc. Smartport in Kansas City, on its web site, lists the new companies coming in, their goal of the first Mexican Customs port, etc. The routes are all laid out and there is no secret to them.
Boulder Dam’s Bypass site, lists its NAFTA highway ties openly, progress, and has no secrets. Universities are teaching the benefits of the “union.”
The only thing is that there is no plan to end the U.S. or it government or merge the nations. There is only the merging of goals, economies, movement of Asian goods through the U.S. for Canada and to the U.S. and having international bodies tell the U.S. what it can and can’t do in these economic areas under the trade agreements that were passed.
We have CFR and Bilderberg and Trilateral commission that post their meeting times and who are members and some of their goals. Again, no secret that they believe a “one world” economy is coming and best if ruled by an “international body.” Again, no secret what their goals are, and the members that are from both parties, many governments, many major international corporations, etc.
When you look at all the members that are in more than one of those organizations, support NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, etc. you see the obvious, not any conspiracy. There are no secrets in the goals or who is working on those goals if a person just reads the news.
What many think are conspiracies aren’t because they aren’t secret and the goals are the same as when they created the Federal Reserve in 1913. I really do think those who are opposed to those goals should stop treating them as conspiracies and instead treat them as they are. They are goals of some in this nation and other nations. Not all agree with them or want those goals or expect to have the same outcomes if the goals are reached.
Some will want a socialist “control” should the goals be reached. Others want a more “capitalist” outcome. Some may even want an end to democracy at the national level and simply retain it at the local and state level.
But, there isn’t much that is secret.

Actually I hate the word “conspiracy” but what the heck. And don’t forget “economic interests”, “concentration of power”, “monopolistic activity”, “no other plausible explanation”, “semi-secret agendas” ect…
From the founding of the nation we have had a struggle between the “Hamiltons” and the “Jeffersons.”
We have seen rises and falls in powers of each or did until 1913 when the “Hamiltons” finally gained the power and from that point on, moved forward their agenda. But, there has never been a secret in that they felt their goals of centralizing power would be good for the nation.
The “Robber barons” were actually not that “anti-social” and if you take a person like Ford, knew that a strong middle class made life better for them, not worse.
However, those goals don’t fit with socialists who believe that if they gain power in the world, they can create a world of peace and tolerance where all will have a “middle class” life.
The groups of elite that influence so many governments are not “of one mind.” They have all kinds of views concerning what to do with power once gained but, they do share in common that goal of “one world economy” with the elite directing that economy.
Each nation can be quite different in social make-up but, the money supply needs to be controlled by the elite and many of the economic policies must be used to gain more power including the normal “business cycles” that people become overly optimistic with or over overly pessimistic.
As long as you understand human nature and control the money supply, you can embark on a long road to ultimate power where the people themselves, actually give you that power. That is especially true in democracies where the people keep demanding government give them more and more to make life “easy.”
Even as it gets worse and worse, each decade, as it has happened here, they keep demanding more government. The strategy is not a “secret agenda” but rather an agenda they can convince the majority is “best” for them. What “sensible person” can argue with tolerance, world peace, all people middle class, care for all needy and oppressed?
Just use human nature and the majorities desires, and you can get away with just about anything, including in the end, things the majority never thought they were asking for until they have them.
It is like saying you can have all the sugar you want in your coffee because it is free. You have them fill the cup half full of sugar and then wonder why you don’t like what you asked for. You lost the “flavor” of what you really wanted, coffee but, you got exactly what you asked for.
Unfortunately liberals will never understand why they have a sickness and they dont care to. Hillary obama and all democrats want first the war to fail they want the economy to fail so they can have government control over the nation.. Its like in robin hoods day–steal from the rich and give to the poor, and make everyone the same. We dont reward people when they excell anymore thats being a racist…in there eyes.. There are so many lost people in this world who believe in that stupid HOAX known as global warming.. sure there is global warming yet it’s always been there. the earth goes through cycles like every other living thing..any reason to put some tax on gasoline or give healthcare to illegal aliens.. democrats or liberals will do anything for power.. If they get back in office we all might learn a very powerful lesson at the hands of terrorists…yet I’m afraid the next time it might not be a building but worse..they want to dismantle our military and build big government healthcare for the lazy and job hiring quotas for minorities only because they are a different color..

people need to realize one thing, there are so many humans on this planet and not everyone is the same.. I met a friend one time where we would go get a bite to eat once or twice a week or see a movie.. he was the type of person that made horrible decisions that would affect his job and eventually get him in trouble.. I tried to help him for so long and spent numerous hours coaching him giving advice. When the smoke cleared and I had exhausted all levels of patience I realized that what he needed was to motivate himself or a professional to help him with that. But it was ultimately up to him to get that help not me..where would he get the real help. he would have to pay for it or it would come from his own efforts.. In this same way there are those who are like him just so lazy that they dont want to do anything for themselves and they want someone to do it for them.. ultimately I could no longer help my friend anymore because of his downright sloth like approach to everything.. No one can give you a job, no one can give you money, no one can provide you with happiness and no one can give you peace of mind.. You provide these most powerful things from and for yourself.. If we keep going down this path America we will be relying on government for every little thing and thats not there job…
quit being lazy people, make your own money get your own job and make your own life its not the governments job to do it for you!!!!!!!!
I agree for the most part about how dangerous FIDEL OBAMMA WILL BE. The problem is that “W” and the good ole boys betrayed us LESSER CONSERVATIVES who are not CEOs, OIL MEN or BIG PARTY INSIDERS. We are in store for some Jimmy Carter style missery and this can be layed squarely at the feet of “W” and the GOP. They ignored the looming oil crisis, earmarks, illegal immigration and somehow they still had time to execute the Iraq war in a Viet Nam style manner. It’s like the FALCONS after the VICK scandal. We had a rotten QB and a poor offensive line. Now we can only rebuild.
