With the US media focusing on Lebanon, Israel has stepped up its campaign against Hamas. Yesterday, more than 33 senior members of Hamas were arrested by Israeli troops, including Nasser Shaer, the Palestinian education minister. This is the second time Shaer has been rounded up with other members of Hamas this past year. Last summer, Israel also kidnapped around 30 members of parliament and one-third of the cabinet to punish Hamas for being democratically elected to power. Al, I did not get much feed back on this either when I posted an earlier article.
That surprised me since there seem to be a few people out there ready to jump on the “Jewish people are the problem of the world”.

I don’t know if you are including me in those to whom you refer to above. But I would add that I certainly consider the Jews to have disproportionate influence on our U.S. media (they control the media!) and on our foreign policy (The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy). Am I off base or am I correct?
preussow, I’m curious what your interest is in this issue? From my prospective, (I’m a Christian) I take umbridge at the control the Jews have on certain aspects of the Christian religion - evangelicals.

I think I speak for all Jews when I say… Christian’s are sissies.
Jews have used the globally accepted economic system of capitalism to stake their claim on the world scene. What’s wrong with that? Isn’t capitalism and the free market a cornerstone of American idealism? Are Christians turning socialist before my very eyes?
There are plenty of Jews in the U.S. so why shouldn’t they have some lobbying power?

I only consider myself qualified to comment on the Palestine issue. As far as the Jewish control of Hollywood (the one I hear the most), I really don’t care. I’m w/ menace on that score, but when it comes to taking land, I’m generally going to come down on the side of those who end up without.

They may have an influence on the media, but from what I see from the media, the left has more influence. That is probably not the side Jews want projected.
I agree they certainly have an influence on the political side.
I’m not certain about what you mean on the control of the Christain religion. I’m a Christian also, my mother was one and also enjoyed going to a Jewish church - mostly because of the music and dancing.
My interest in this is simple. Can’t we all just be friends? Why does any group have to say “you must die” because beliefs are different. I know, that is not how the world of hatred really exist.

Al, I agree with your statements. The whole problem was when the UN, basically EU of today, decided to give land to Israel in the ME. People don’t like their land taken away.

preussow, you must know most Jews are leftists. Only recently some some Jews have migrated over to take control of the republican party (Neo-Cons). And if Bush didn’t do their bidding he would be ousted. (ie, invade Iraq)
And they do control the media - a well know fact by those that follow the issue. And he who controls the media has IMENSE control over the population!
preussow, you didn’t mention your dad. Was he Christian also? And again, those that follow these issues understand the Christian Evangelicals are compromised, unknowingly, I might add.
But, I would certainly hope we could all get along. I just don’t want to be controlled by folks with a different set of values!

I’m not a Christian evangelical. I do not want them controlling my values either.
But with that said, the U.S. was founded as a Christian nation, and the basic tennant of Christianity should not be forced into the closed by the PC. police.
As far as the media is concerned, the MSM is controlled to near 100% by Jewish interests. I don’t know what the Jewish population is in the U.S. - games are being played in that regard, but the disproportionate control is stunning! And again, he who controls the media, has immense control over the people. And don’t forget Hollywood. The same control exists there, so the people are inundated from all sides!

It comes across as fingerpointing. Nobody could sell out America if we didn’t have a bunch of cow towing boot licking blackmailed sell-outs in Washington D.C. And frankly I think widening any political discussion to encompass religion could be the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF THE 20TH CENTURY!!!

This myth about Christianity being smothered or “under attack” is bull. Christianity has thrived in this country throughout my lifetime.
I’d like to move on from the perpetual sham of fake martyrdom on the part of Christians (both of my sons were baptized Catholic btw), and begin to focus on the REAL victims within our society.
