how about the Oxford English Dictionary: characterized by coarseness or indecency of language, esp. in jesting and invective; coarsely opprobrious or jocular.

I’ll try not to be so “scurrilous” in the future. My bad. I never use profanity for profanity’s sake. On the other hand some think not using profanity to illustrate a profane situation would be a departure from reality.
