It was negotiating with arabs that got our sorry butts out of a US Tripoli military invasion the first time back in Jefferson’s presidency. You gotta do all - show a force of military, negotiate, and trade. Economics is a great problem-solver and uniter. Else, we wouldn’t deal today with rogue nations like China, S Korea, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

Beat you to it, sort of. Around 82-83 we were ‘playing games’ off the coast of Libya in the Gulf of Sidra with our F14s. Didn’t drop bombs, but got to mess with their migs on a daily basis.

Ha! After my boys fron RAF Lakenheath took care of this moron in 1986, he was willing to do anything to avoid another confrontation.

You may remember we launched FB-111’s against Libya back then. The French refused to let us fly over French territory. We “accidentally” hit their embassy during the mission.

In case you’re missing the point John, Khaddafi BEGGED Bush, I wouldn’t call it anything close to negotiating.

By the way, when do you plan to answer Bart’s question? Do you plan to use the ridiculous Regan comparison while avoiding the question?
