Larry Flynt to Ignite 30 More Congressional Sex Scandals

Respected publisher and free speech activist Larry Flynt claimed on Larry King Live that he outed Senator Vitter’s connection to the DC house of ill repute (no, not congress). He also says he has 30 more names—one a senator that will shock us all because of his family values and sex-a-phobic preaching. Flynt is currently trying to decide whether to dribble the names out during the election cycle, or to unload them all at once.

Any guesses who the aggressively-hypocritical Republican senator might be (sorry, I know that doesn’t really narrow it down)? More-man Oral Hatch, perhaps?

“Respected publisher”—LMAO! This old windbag comes out every presidential election season with the same, tired threats. Put up or shut the f up Larry. What a joke!

  2. LeftHook says:

    Vitter’s not laughing.

    we’re laughing at him though.

  4. LeftHook says:

Pretty funny. Vitter’s getting the last laugh, though, because he’s not being forced to resign.

Leave it to conservatives to take the shame out of prostitution (something many liberals and most libertarians have been trying to do for decades).

  5. I’m with BB – “Respected”?!?!?! It is no slight on his character to say that he fits the textbook definition of “scum of the earth.” Moreover, I have a broken clock that is right more often than he.

  6. LeftHook says:

Flynt made millions as a publisher. Free enterprise, baby!

Isn’t that the conservative definition of a self-made successful person, worthy of respect?

Hey Left (and the rest of you folks)- Suggest you read the following piece on this. I think you’ll enjoy it.

  8. The market enables much good to happen, and is the best way of serving the needs of man. But the market itself is morally neutral. The fact that one succeeds in the marketplace does not, in and of itself, make one worthy of a pedestal. After all, the darker nature of all consumers is involved in the marketplace, too. If someone profits by exploiting and encouraging such wretched sin that is most certainly not to their honor (nor to those who enabled their “success”).

Moreover, I – and I’m sure most conservatives out there – have a great problem with prostitution, and whoever was involved with this, a pox on them. However, just as serious are false accusations. That is character assassination. So if one is going to bring an accusation, it had better be air tight, able to be corroborated by other witnesses, and not able to be explained away.

  9. LeftHook says:

Mac: Pretty funny. I wouldn’t put it past one of these guys to, in the future, defend himself by saying he is not ashamed of his robust hetrosexuality.

Though I don’t recall Clinton getting such a gracious reception upon the Right’s discovering he too was hetrosexual. Maybe he could have avoided impeachment if he had hetro’ed a prostitute instead of a consenting adult.

  10. Bill says:

    Lefthook
“Bimbo eruptions” rape and overt sexual misconduct by politicians with members of the opposite sex does absolutely nothing to prove their sexual orientation or disprove another sexual orientation.

  11. hoads says:

Conservatives know the score with these witch hunts and are disgusted with these pathetic attempts to “out” social conservatives for sexual misdeeds. I’m not sure how much impact any of this stuff is going to have especially when some of these phone records are over 10 years old. And I for one, refuse to allow the likes of Larry Flynt to determine who is qualified or disqualified to hold public office. While I find adultery and prostitution immoral, I find those who rise above these character flaws and successfully pursue redemption and reform are better for it and provide examples to others on overcoming personal weaknesses. It’s the trite and non-apologetic philanderers who I find the most morally reprehensible and who I find unqualified for public office.

  12. LeftHook says:

hoads: I think you took the long way of saying that you hold Republicans and Democrats to different moral standards.

  13. hoads says:

    Lefthook,

I’ve said nothing of the sort–that is your biased misinterpretation. I hold all politicians to the same standards. The Left thinks if they do not promote moral standards then they are not accountable for their personal behavior and that’s the kind of distorted thinking that is eroding our country’s culture and values.

  14. JohnKonop says:

Do you think they will come forward before he outs them?

  15. LeftHook says:

    hoads: Stop kidding yourself.

“…I find those who rise above these character flaws …provide examples to others [ie Vitter and other conservatives]… It’s the trite and non-apologetic philanderers who I find the most morally reprehensible [ie Clinton and other liberals].”

  16. hoads says:

    Lefthook,

The difference in standards is between Vitter and Clinton. My standard remains consistent and would apply to Clinton if he had ever sought redemption and apologized for his adultery.

  17. LeftHook says:

    hoads: Stop kiding yourself.

Clinton: “What I want the American people to know, what I want the Congress to know, is that I am profoundly sorry for all I have done wrong in words and deeds.”

Clinton: “I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events and the great burden they have imposed on the Congress and on the American people.”

Clinton: “I hope that you and others I have injured will forgive me for the mistakes I’ve made…”

Now say what you’re dying to say: Vitter really meant it, Clinton didn’t.

  18. hoads says:

He may have apoligized for Lewinsky but how about Gennifer Flowers, Paula whatever, Juanita Broderick and those are just the ones who made it to the press. And he has not redeemed himself since Lewinsky. Clinton is a serial cheater and will forever allow those demons to reside in him. For someone with such stature in the public eye, he does a poor job of attempting to portray a monogamous marriage. He is constantly swirled in rumors and there have been reports of him having affairs with public officials in France and the U.K. Clinton is having more fun than ever since now he gets to imbibe in countries far away from the American press.

  19. Bill says:

If Larry Flynt keeps dangling this crap around then we might loose interest. Is he trying to rid D.C. of corruption (yeah right) or timing it for elections? If he reveals some names and holds back others than he’s a bigger hippocrite than any politician who wants to protect kids from pornography even if he may have sinned on occasion.

  20. LeftHook says:

hoads: I’m guessing this doesn’t work for you (because of party affiliation):

“Vitter may have apoligized for his adultry, but how about an apology for each and every prostitute he had sex with? And those are just the infidelities who made it to the press. And he has not redeemed himself since apologizing. Vitter is a serial cheater and will forever allow those demons to reside in him. For someone with such stature in the public eye, Vitter does a poor job of attempting to portray a monogamous marriage.”

  21. hoads says:

Let’s put it this way. The jury on Vitter is still out. If he was sincere in his apology, seeks redemption and acquires a history of monogamy and commitment to his marriage, then he will have acquired the trust of his constituency and will be an example for others to follow. Words alone are meaningless so only time will tell if his actions support his words. The best we can do is trust his word, believe he is humbled and remorseful of his actions and trust that he has turned over a new leaf.

  22. LeftHook says:

hoads: But Vitter gets the benefit of the doubt (because he’s a social conservative). Clinton doesn’t.

And you know as much about Clinton’s current sex life as Vitter’s, which is to say, nothing.

  23. hoads says:

    LeftHook,

No, I’m not giving Vitter the benefit of the doubt, I’m giving him an opportunity to redeem himself. Something Clinton seems incapable of achieving but, should Clinton decide to come clean and turn over a new leaf, I will also give him the same opportunity to prove over time that his actions back up his words.

  24. LeftHook says:

How would you know whether Vitter or Clinton has “redeemed” himself?

Why hasn’t Clinton achieved redemption? He apologized, like Vitter, and you have no idea whether he’s strayed since the apology, or whether Vitter has.

  25. hoads says:

    LeftHook,

We have the first and only outing of Vitter’s sexual misconduct. We have many on Clinton. You get one chance to redeem yourself on this issue and after that, you are either accepted or rejected as an adulterer. Clinton has apparently been accepted as the adulterer he is.

  26. caroline says:

    hoads,
There are repeated incidents with Vitter, apparently at a number of bordellos in New Orleans. Apparently he liked to be diapered. Rumor has it he has a child too. Anyhow, to say there aren’t numerous indicidents is not telling the truth. Of course, would you recognize the truth? I guess not.

    Left,
Here’s the deal-fundamentalists who claim God has “forgiven them” are okay. The rest aren’t “real christians” according to the fundies. You see, Vitter claimed that God had forgiven him so he’s okay right?

  27. hoads says:

    caroline,

I am apparently not as naive as you. Any adulterer or john caught in the act is assumed as being engaged in long standing elicit behavior. I distinguish this in my post by referring to Vitter’s “outing” not “incidents”.

Nowhere in my posts have I referred to “God has “forgiven them”" nor do I recall Vitter making such a statement. Your attempt to malign my statements is simply pitiful vitriol meant to distract from your obvious inabillity to intellectually debate the issues.

  28. captain_menace says:

caroline, for what it’s worth… God forgives you too… for being a heathen, liberal wench.

    Just kidding ;)

  29. caroline says:

    hoads,
Obviously you haven’t read Vitter’s statements where he claims “God has forgiven him.” Really, though, that post wasn’t addressed you know was it silly? Your rationale though is really thin. It only matters how many times they’ve been outed not how many times they’ve committed adultery? LOL. Hey, Vitters even worse than most because he had to PAY for it. I guess when you are kinky though, it’s not easy to find someone.
