Newt Gingrich goes nuclear: May enter race to foil ‘pygmies’
Do you think Newt is right that the GOP front runners are ‘pygmies’? Sould Newt run?
EX-Dismissing the GOP presidential field as a “pathetic” bunch of “pygmies,” Newt Gingrich hinted Monday he might step in to beat Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.
“If, in mid-October, it’s quite clear that one or more of the current candidates is strong enough to be a serious alternative to a Clinton-Obama ticket, you don’t need me to run,” the former House Speaker said at a breakfast sponsored by the American Spectator. “If it becomes patently obvious, as the morning paper points out, that the Democrats have raised a hundred million more than the Republicans, and at some point people decide we are going to get Hillary unless there’s a radical change, then there’s space for a candidate,” he added. “So you’ll know by mid-October one of those two futures is real.”
Asked by the Examiner if he was prepared to commit to a run, Gingrich said, “I’m perfectly happy to do what I do,” he said. “Whether that leads to the presidency is the country’s problem, not mine

I think I speak for the entire country when I say, “There’s not enough Newt Gingrich in circulation today, and if they don’t start printing more right away, before long we could end up speaking Canadian.”
The country NEEDS Gingrich now more than ever. I’ve got a whole boxfull of it hidden underneath the floorboards (I’m not saying what room, because I’d be inviting a home invasion).
I’m not 100% sure I understand the pygmie reference. They’re a small people, meaning he thinks the candidates are small (politically)?
But substituting “midgets” (who are also small) for “pygmie” doesn’t really seem to mean anything.
So, is there more to the pygmie reference than just small? Is there a “politically primitative” angle?
Does Newt think that the current crop of GOP candidates are not American citizens, and therefore not eligible to win? (If only that were true.)
You can say what you want but we did have a balance budget under his leadership! He was the last leader of the House who can say that!
Gingrich is a globalist. He had his chance to show if he was an American, and he isn’t. I want no part of Gingrich!
John,
And what did he get for his trouble? Dismissed. Gingrich is a person of ideas but is a disaster as a politician and as a tactician.
Is he going to renew his “Contract on America” ?
Renew it????? 80% hasn’t been addressed after 13 years.
I’m a Newt fan, but he needs to put up or shut up. Sitting on the sidelines criticizing every move of the starting lineup is not exactly the most savvy strategy to gain support to win the primary.
I hope both parties will adopt Newt’s suggestion of 90 minute debates with each candidate allowed to speak 30 minutes prior to questions. In this type arena, Newt would dominate…so would any of the top GOP candidates over Barack Hussein “Fidel is my buddy” Obama or Hillary “I was for the war before I was against it” Clinton.
bb,
Thanks for the post. It shows just how childish the GOP has become. I guess the pathetic pygmies will be rerunning the same talking points they’ve been using for years. It seems criticizing failure is the biggest sin imaginable in the GOP.
As I can remember I supported most of the ideas for the Contract with America (term limits, making members of Congress subject to the same laws as the rest of us, ect…) but Newt is clearly a globalist at this point. And he’s part of the WWIII crowd too. On top of that he angrily referred to bloggers as an “insurgency”. Not a word you use lightly these days without calculating the ramifications.

It shouldn’t surprise me that bb doesn’t read very well . . .
Hugh is against Newt, therefore, I’m all for him!
Vote Newt in 2008!
