I like Obama (at least when he delivers speeches) But if he was the “real deal” then he would get rid of some of his “handlers” like “Zbig” and others. These guys are “cultivated” and recruited from college by “elitists”. And they’re all CFR except for Ron Paul of course who is the only candidate remaining who supports the Constitution and represents the people.

It becomes a community issue as soon as the kid ends up in the judicial or correctional systems. Crappy parenting is a community problem. Even if we executed every problem child (the Republican approach), someone would still have to pay for the bullets.

bb: I think you mean it “shouldn’t” be the community’s problem. Because, like pollution and a number of other bad behaviors, poor parenting can affect the community.

Think about crime, for example. It might be less expensive to have government-funded study halls (or pay for grades) now than to pay for incaration down the road. You get the idea.

I’m with you on the fact that poor parenting shouln’t be our problem, but that doesn’t make the consequences that effect us all go away…

It is not “the community’s” problem since “the community” already provides food, education (as it were), healthcare, etc. — just about everything but a good night kiss.

Maybe the solution is for real parental responsibility to be encouraged…you know, actually budget the cost of a child before having one. Maybe it is time for “the community” to get out of the parenting business and force mom and dad to fulfill their own responsibilities.

“Parents if you don’t parent, we can’t improve our schools,” he said. “You’ve got to parent.”

Then let parents be parents and support parents being able to CHOOSE the school whether govt. or private for their children to be educated.

And no more money or support from teacher unions…put up or shut up B. Hussein Obama!
