Flag Burning Double Standard?

The highlight of the Columbus, Ohio, homosexual “pride” parade was the arrest of two men for burning the rainbow flag.

Charles Spingola and Thomas R. Meyer of Newark, Ohio, were charged with open burning, a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.

Earlier that day, Singola had burned a “gay-pride” flag outside the Broad Street United Methodist Church, where a pro-homosexual service was being held. There he was given a warning. He later appeared along the parade route with another “gay-pride” flag and a can of gasoline.

A scuffle ensued after the second flag was lighted, and the men were arrested. The arrest was unexpected according to Singola’s wife since the previous year they had burned a “gay-pride” flag at the same intersection without incident.

“It’s legal to burn the American flag. We thought it’s OK to burn the [homosexual] flag,” Teresa Singola told The Columbus Dispatch.

While the U.S. Supreme Court has said flag burning is constitutional, city authorities justified the arrests.

“Lighting a flag during a parade around a huge crowd wouldn’t seem to qualify as exercising your First Amendment rights,” Deputy Chief Karry Ellis of the Columbus Division of Fire told the Dispatch.

Just days before this incident, a state appeals court ruled that Spingola was guilty of criminal damaging for a June 1999 incident where he climbed a flagpole at the state house and cut down a rainbow flag, which someone else burned.

I support a two party system, prefer a third party system but McCain-Feingold has squelched alternative parties. Aren’t you concerned that the Green Party or the Libertarian Party are being left in the dust? This is by design. So where does that leave left winged radical groups? They have aligned with the Democrat Party and had you read the article you would be surmised of their tactics.

It’s one thing to be “liberal”. It is quite another to be antithetical to the founding principles of our republic and that is what the far left represents. These are anti-capitalists who are intent on transforming our entire system of government. Did you even read the linked article? Cloward and Piven orchestrated an assault on NYC and SUCCEEDED in NYC declaring bankruptcy in 1975.

Read the Shadow Party by David Horowitz and you will find that there is an orchestrated effort to undermine the U.S. both domestically and internationally.

Anything associated with George Soros is bad news and seeing as the U.K.’s newly appointed Foreign Relations Minister for Asia, Africa and the U.N. is the anti-American Malloch Brown who rents a house on George Soros property at below market rates against UN rules should be an indication that Soros has accrued power enough to enact his radical vision of the world. Soros used his huge billions to effect international money trade and has been outed in attempting to devalue U.S. currency in the world market. Soros has been implicated with devaluing the Russian economy after the fall of communism which Russia has still not completely recovered and Soros has personally “toppled” several regimes–some for better but some for worse. The fact that he has a hand in the Democrat Party should alarm all Americans. Joe Lieberman just made a statement last week about Soros’ influence being detrimental to the U.S.

This is not the Roosevelt Democrat Party. The Democrat Party is so hungry for power that they have been willing to align themselves with entities that do not have America’s best interests at heart. You would do well to read up on this phenomenon.

Their relentless efforts to open the floodgates of illegal immigration and pack the voter rolls will illegal immigrant voters have the same objective: to overwhelm our government with an impossible flood of new problems and balkanize our society, while stacking the voter rolls with newly-minted democrats who will unwittingly support the radicals in their subversive efforts to destroy this country in favor of their socialist vision.
