Republican base still wild about Sarah Palin

Is Palin the GOP hope for 12?

Politico-Despite a torrent of criticism from the media, Democrats and even some in her own party, Sarah Palin remains the hottest brand name in politics.

Her recent resignation was perplexing. It’s raised doubts about her viability as a potential presidential candidate. Still, she remains extremely popular with the GOP grass roots, and most Republican Party leaders would jump at the chance to have her headline one of their events.

That’s the picture that emerges from interviews with dozens of GOP state and local leaders from across the country.

As part of an effort to gauge Palin’s popularity with the rank and file beyond the Beltway, where the GOP establishment is lukewarm toward the charismatic former governor, POLITICO surveyed nearly 50 prominent Republican Party officials and politicians, representing every region of the country and ranging from statewide-elected officeholders to state legislators to state and county party chairs.

I doubt Palin runs for anything.

She has a book coming out that is already on the top of the charts 7 weeks prior to its release (and she has banked a $4M advance).

She is getting in excess of $100K per speech.

Why the hell would she want to be president taking a huge pay cut and having to deal with idiots like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank on a daily basis?

David Letterman who liked to crack jokes about Palin’s daughters has a little taste of karma:

David Letterman acknowledged on Thursday’s show that he had sexual relationships with female employees and that someone tried to extort $2 million from him over the affairs.

During the taping of his CBS late-night show in New York, Letterman discussed receiving a threat to either pay $2 million or risk the relationships being made public.

…..In his testimony, he said he acknowledged sexual relationships with members of his staff. It was not immediately clear when the relationships took place; Letterman and longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko married in March. The couple began dating in 1986 and have a son, Harry, born in November 2003.

Ironically dirtbag Dave cracked on Mark Sanford during his monologue.

The real weird thing was how the audience reacted during dirtbag’s explanation of the incident…laughter and applause. Even the dirtbag stopped at one point and asked what is so funny.

Palin better not run; she’d be nothing but a circus sideshow. At any rate, she won’t be getting my vote.
