He hasn’t been on Meet The Press because the entire process is rigged, and Ron Paul doesn’t fit into the neat little cubby hole the elites would like.
My only disagreement with him is that we cannot just pull out of Iraq, we took on the job and we should finish it. It would be a great blow to our moral position to abandon these people as we did the Vietnamese. He is absolutely correct though when he states that we should never go to war unless there is a declaration from congress and everyone is on board.
I could not vote for him as a Republican because he would be beholden to the elites that run the party and the PACs, and a victory for either party will perpetuate their hold on power and re-enforce their belief in their own invulnerability.
If Ron Paul ran as a true independent with no loyalties to the GOP, I would seriously consider dropping out and voting for him. More important than who becomes President in 2008 is the need to break up the massive power accrued to the two elite parties. If not, then even if RP manages to accomplish some of the conservative goals many of us would like, the same old power structure would be in place after his term and we would be back on the road to the socialist New World Order.

Well now you’re flat out lying, Joe. And it doesn’t look good on a presidential candidate such as yourself who would say anything to try to boost his own chances.

In his 20 years in congress he has made exactly ZERO loyalty votes on the dictates of the party unless the legislation was in line with the constitution.
Do your research. Your credibility will improve substantially.
Chris
His heart is in the right place. Perhaps we can mold him. Shape him in fact. Propel him to new heights. MAKE HIM BIG AND MAKE HIM OURS!!! (just kidding)
To call me a liar because you don’t agree with my point of view is not exactly fair.
I never said that anything against his record which I admire, and I did not make any personal attack on his character in any way. Aside from myself, he is the only candidate who is really concerned about whether the Constitution is important. I even posted an entry on CC just a while back about whether the Constitution still matters, and a few folks here posted that they didn’t think so. I happen to think it still matters, and so does RP.
You apparently missed the part where I said I could vote for him if he was a truly independent candidate, especially considering that his name recognition is about a million times higher than mine. To think I am trying to tear him down to boost myself is not only wrong, but it would be plain nuts!
If you have checked out my website, then you would realize that everything I am trying to do is aimed at one thing, breaking the hold on power that the two major parties have built up for themselves. I believe every unsolved problem we have in America is because of this duopoly as its called. It has allowed the elites to further their internationalist, socialist agenda, and if RP even had me anywhere on his radar, I think he would agree with me on that.
Therefore, my position is based upon that premise and it doesn’t matter who the GOP candidate might be. Plenty of folks are for Tancredo and Hunter, both staunch patriots as far as I can tell, but within the GOP, they would also be beholden to those that put them there.
But, you have to understand one thing, at least one thing that I believe before you call me a liar. If either party, no matter the candidate, secures the Presidency in 2008, it is only going to further their belief in their own invulnerability. It will strenghthen their hold on power because they will once again have proved to the sheep as well as themselves that there is no other choice, nowhere to go, we must vote for one of them! This simply increases their power, increases the partisanship, and allows the corruption to continue because there is no one to challenge them.
If that happens, it is most likely that the America we love and were given as an inheritance will be lost for good. Events are moving fast in the 21st Century, and the pressure to move into the New World Order/One World Government gets greater by the day.
Our borders are wide open to an invasion by illegals. Our senate is about to authorize The Law of the Sea Treaty. Our economy is being weakened little by little, the list goes on and on as you well know. What is your answer to stopping this sellout of our beloved country? More power to these s.o.b. elites, to the DEM/GOP/MSM propaganda machines.
I say this, anyone who votes for the GOP OR THE DEMS is a traitor. The two parties are totally corrupt and I refuse to give them another iota of power or influence!
Only an independent President can stop these people. An independent President would shake the power structure to its knees, not only here but around the world. It could become the catalyst of a real third party that could begin to promote alternative candidates at all levels. It is, in my view, the only way because the elites will not give it up voluntarily. They will not vote for term limits, they will not create campaign finance reform as I have laid out, and they will not back off their internationalist agenda.
There are many things that I am and am not, but I am not a liar.
Anybody who blames America for 9/11 cannot possibly lead this country against the terrorists who are REALLY to blame for 9/11. While he’s looking within to find enemies, the real threat will do just as they did during Clinton’s reign, buildup forces while planning a major attack.
Of course, this is how the Paul Doctrine works — do not address enemies until after they attack. Sing Kumbayah with them, but never pre-emptively take out obvious threats.
That is not an “honest” way to address the very real threat of global terrorism.
John, of course I agree!

No, Ron Paul is not the “most honest candidate…”.
