Ron Paul Shocks Cobb GOP With Straw Poll Results

The Georgia Libertarian Party was not, according to our sources, responsible for the eye-popping results for Ron Paul! This makes the results even more shocking! With independents growing with discontent with both parties, do you think Ron Paul has a chance?

PP-Its almost not news that Fred Thompson won. What is news is that Cong. Ron Paul came in second, with Mitt Romney third. I have to hand it to my former colleagues in the LP, they brought out a strong showing for Ron.

Ron Paul is the only hope for our nation to begin to turn back to our founding principles of limited government and individual liberty. All of the others are either members of the CFR or do not stand for the Constitution by their votes and actions. BTW, the LP had nothing to do with it. We are a cross section of American from all walks.

He has a chance if we give him the chance.

If the American people turn out to vote for Ron Paul, he will restore the Republic back to the original intent of the founding fathers. Liberty, freedom, and peace. What a radical concept!

Ron Paul is the only credible candidate who reaches across all parties, all religions, and all walks, to bring our country together.

I think when the actual elections come around, it will turn out that ALL of the pundits and pollsters were VERY wrong. More people are going to be voting than ever before and most of these first time voters are not those being polled. Ron Paul is gathering a lot of steam and you have to hand it to him there… but there is more to it than just that… people are fed up with all of the government and they’re demanding change… drastic change. This will likely be to Paul’s benefit.

[…] To give just one powerful example of the strength of his following, at a recent forumin Iowa, where the first in the nation caucuses will be held, Ron Paul attracted as many supporters as the candidacies of Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, Tom Tancredo, Sam Brownback, and Duncan Hunter combined. Dr. Paul is placing near the top of various straw polls. And more and more people are beginning to take notice. […]

Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate that can beat Hillary/Obama. With 70% of the American public now realizing that we need to stop meddling in other nations business, understanding that non-intervention does not equate to isolationism, he is our only chance to win. Lower taxes, less government in our lives, changing the role of government back to its true place envisoned by our founders, etc.. This message has VAST appeal. All the other GOP candidates are more of the same. Big spending for the war machine,Big spending for boondoggles, wasteful spending on Big Brother and “freeing” the world with the barrel of a gun is not what America is about. If we want the GOP to win we must have Dr. Ron Paul as our candidate. Nominate anyone else and lose next November. WB

bb’s point is well taken: we have a lot of work to do! Still, so did the colonists whom we honor each July 4th. Who imagined a small colony with less than 3 million people could stave off the most powerful military force on the planet?
What Rep. Paul’s critics fail to realize is that we are not just working for a man, but a message. He and his message have inspired Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents to volunteer on his behalf, something I doubt can be said of any other GOP candidate.
I look at the current GOP power structure and I feel as Reagan might have in 1976. He did lose to Ford that year, but laid the groundwork for an incredible victory in 1980. If we do not win this year, I pray that we, too, can lay the groundwork for liberty in four years.
