But it’s not necessarily about being afraid as much as it is about recognizing the absolute absurdity of electing a novice to the most important job in the world. Obamageddon’s path to this point has been clear of any real challenges and will remain so all the way to 1600 PA Ave. considering who the GOP is going to offer as competition.
I think the most scary aspect is what has been pointed out on Hannity’s radio program for the last few days: of all those asked, no one knows what he has accomplished or even what he proposes to accomplish in his past and future political career…yet, they’ll follow him off a cliff like so many lemmings.
I think that Romney would easily be able to exploit and crack open Obama’s thin candy shell. I hope McCain can, too. If he can highlight to the lemmings that Obama is the wolf in sheeps clothing then he has a good chance.
“of all those asked, no one knows what he has accomplished”
Just so you can finally have an answer…
He has inspired Americans to participate in a political process that most believe to be corrupt. Something that very few politicians can claim.
All the campaign promises and agendas are just window dressing for any candidate.
You say Romney has experience? Great. He has experience runnnig a multi-billion dollar LBO firm that directly shipped many American jobs overseas while simultaneously funneling tax-free buyout-profits to foreigners.
That’s the track record I want for the person running our country. I will say that Romney has a far better business record than Bush ever had. I still can’t understand how conservatives CHOSE Bush?
“By Obama’s own admission, there were few big victories. But whether it was getting the city to fill potholes, provide summer jobs, or remove asbestos from the apartments or persuading the apartment managers to repair toilets, pipes, and ceilings, Obama encouraged residents to come up with their own priorities with the gentle admonition: “It’s your community.”"
I’ll take a natural community organizer and leader over a slick billionaire globalist any day of the week.
If you understood that the south side of Chicago was one of the most dangerous areas in America, then you might have more respect for the challenge that Obama took on at a young age (while Romney was using daddy’s influence to make billions).
By the way, don’t listen to Hannity. If you listen to sh*t, sure enough, most of your ideas will be sh*t.
The argument that Obama “hasn’t accomplished anything” is nothing more than a conservative lament, reflective of the fact that they don’t have any inspiring candidates themselves. Poor conservatives.
I agree that Hannity spends way too much of his time defending Bush instead of arguing against liberal ideas. His point, however, is very clear: those who support Obama neither know what his politics are or what direction he intends to take the nation as president. Like I said…lemmings.
And you can have your community organizer; I’ll take the billionaire because he knows how to create wealth which will actually improve peoples’ lives. Your community organizer will fire people up and only make them proud to live in poverty and mediocrity.
Well unlike Limbaugh and the neocons I want nothing to do with the Bushes or the Clintons. I’m supporting Ron Paul, who could beat Hillary or Obama. And McShame is getting swiftboated from all directions.
“those who support Obama neither know what his politics are or what direction he intends to take the nation as president”
So then, it’s fair to say that those who voted for Bush knew exactly what he was going to do as president?
“because he knows how to create wealth which will actually improve peoples’ lives.”
Sure. Whose lives did Romney improve? He made billions. Who did it benefit?
Making money from brokered financial deals is not the same as creating value. In fact the manufacturing of structured finance has led us to our current financial crisis. Let’s hear it for the wizards of Wall St. (who, BTW, you and I will be bailing out shortly).
Yeah, I would argue that the large majority of those who voted for Bush were very aware of his positions. And with the exception of the ridiculous amount of spending, he’s done a fair job.
I think that Mitt was CEO for Dominoes Pizza. How many people were employed by Dominoes at the time? Did they not stand to gain if Romney were successful at making a few truck-loads of money for the company?
How many peoples’ lives are improved by your community leader’s motivational speeches?
“How many people were employed by Dominoes at the time?”
Ha! That’s funny. I put myself through college working at Domino’s.
Romney’s investment firm acquired Domino’s. He wasn’t CEO. He probably made a profit on the deal, but I doubt the average employee benefited from this.
Bush has done anything but a “fair job”. He wasted 8 years of opportunity to steer us in the right direction. His policies have made me fearful for the future of this country. My four year-old will be paying for Bush’s “fair job” for a long, long time.
Who isn’t? afraid that is.
Ditto Aubrey.

Aubrey,
McCain is not in a position to crack Obama…he has a litany of problems to overcome himself starting with financing his campaign.
Read George Will’s column posted here yesterday…McCain is in deep doo-doo.

On the Streets of Chicago, a Candidate Comes of Age
