Sex Offender Arrested Again!
What should be done with sex offenders, knowing there is no cure?
FOX-TAMPA — When a 42-year-old registered sex offender answered the door naked and acting nervous during a surprise check by cops, the officers acted on suspicion and searched his home.
What they found next was a 15-year-old girl in Robert Gomez’s bed, according to MyFoxTampaBay.com.
Click here to read the report from MyFoxTampaBay.com, which includes a photo of Gomez.
The girl cooperated, telling cops she met Gomez in an online chat room seven months ago, and that a sexual relationship began immediately.
Gomez was arrested and booked on one count of lewd and lascivious battery and a probation violation.
Already a registered a sex offender, Gomez was convicted in June 2002 on a lewd and lascivious assault charge on a victim under the age of 16.

Depending on the degree of offense, chemical castration seems a good solution.
I read castration does not work!! They still attack!
How about “sledgehammer castration”?
Not a topic I’ve read much about, so that’s interesting if true. I am not opposed to capital punishment for repeat heinous offenders, if that is what is necessary.
Gitmo.
John,
Sounds like a made for TV movie is next on your list of great personal accomplishments.
I see the title as:
“When Eunuchs Attack!”
So how do you reconcile this posted line of reasoning with Mr. Wilson’s ten year mandatory sentence?
I’m sure Ron Paul has a great Biblical solution like having sex offenders marry underage prostitutes and sexually active minors.
Mitt Romney will have to close the sexual predator solution gap in true Mormon style. Sexual predators will have the right to marry more than one immoral teenager.
If all that hits a snag, they can just commute the sentence a la Libby.
Have a good morning.

Wilson and the girl were minors within 2 years of each other! What does that have to do with this?
I read castration does not work!! They still attack!
Chemical castration in he form of anti-libidinals will reduce recidivism. The trouble is that if the medication is stopped for any reason (including the patient not taking it in error) then there is an elevated risk. Once a person breaks down the mental barriers against this kind of behavior, it becomes very difficult to raise those barriers back up.
Sexual compulsivity disorders are widespread/ It’s a tough nut that social scientists have had limited success in cracking. I would be open to suggestions as to a course of action. It serves no purpose to continually state the obvious without sugesstions towards a solution.
James
Thanks for the information!
Do you have a solution?
The best results seem to come in the context of group home care. That is of course expensive in some cases. Jail would probably be the most sensible course of action in the short term. Keeping the community aware is good for producing a false sense of security and reducing the ability of the individual to sucessfully re-enter the community.
Please keep in mind that over half of all cases of childhood sexual abuse are perpetrated by an immediate family member and not some creepy naked guy in a trenchcoat. A really good solution comes in the form of community education. Especially childhood education about sexuality. This of course is a controversial subject to teach in a public school. However, it could be as simple as teaching children about their body and about how it belongs completely to them and what to do if someone violates that privacy.

John,
Do you not think one registered sex affender is just like another?
MD
MAD DOG
YOU KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE BECAUSE UNLIKE YOU I THINK WILSON GOT THE SHAFT!

YOY ARE THE ONE WHO WANTS WILSON IN JAIL!
What about a jackhammer lobotomy? Or a bowie knife circumcision? Just call me the idea man.

I recognize you!
The Shell Answer Man!
And, all this time I thought you had been squeezing the Charmin…

John,
If you don’t see one convicted sex offender as being the same as another convicted sex offender, that’s not my problem.
You want to be soft on crime? Go ahead.
You want to roll back mandatory sentences? Go ahead.
You want to give judges more power? Go ahead.
But, for Wilson to get ’special treatment’ without due process is treason!
Beg Perdue to pardon Wilson. Beg Bush to pardon Wilson. Pray to your personal form of higher power to save Wilson.
Go for it!
The GOP wrote the law. The GOP created mandatory sentences. The GOP has ranted and raved about ‘activist judges’ until the public pukes.
Now the system works exactly in line with the GOP.
I’m just being a neo-Democrat. Let the GOP destroy the country as fast as possible. Then, the Democrats will be given the power to re-build it the way it should be.
Wilson is the poster child of the GOP Hates America Movement.
Welcome to the world of disfunctional justice.
Wilson is no saint. Let him serve his time in a GOP jail cell.
Mad Dog
James,
I’m stunned.
If I had time, I’d read more from your link by the stop it now group.
You’ve WOW’d me into silence.

A Democrat kept Wison in jail! Also life is grey not black or white!
A Democrat kept Wilson in jail?
What a bald lie, John.
Is the deputy at the jail a Democrat?
MD
p.s. Now you sound just like Al Sharpton and those liberals.

Mr. Whipple is a repeat offender. HE CAN’T HELP IT!! He’s always going to squeeze the Charmin.
