Subpoena for Rove coming in prosecutor firings
I have heard the White House push warrant less wiretaps by saying Americans should have nothing to hide if they are innocent. If President believes that is true why would he not allow Rove to testify?
WASHINGTON (AP)USA — The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman said Sunday he intends to subpoena White House officials involved in ousting federal prosecutors and is dismissing anything short of their testimony in public.
The Bush White House was expected to announce early this week whether it will let political strategist Karl Rove, former White House counsel Harriet Miers and other officials testify or will seek to assert executive privilege in preventing their appearance.

John
The entire “I’ve got nothing to hide” (and therefore I don’t care if they spy on me) crowd makes me sick. They’re also the first to come to the defense of this criminal regime.

If executive privilege is used, it will set up a constitutional showdown. Bush’s has tried to say that Rove will testify if it’s in private and not under oath. Conyers said no and they are going to issue subpoenas.
