The GOP in Georgia

Yes, it was just a primary in Macon so we did expect to announce a Democratic winner.

But, the GOP candidates for Mayor all together got less than a thousand votes in the GOP primary? 521 votes… FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY VOTES FOR ALL THE GOP CANDIDATES FOR MAYOR.

How did the Democrats do in the primary? Close to 16,000 votes. 15,579.

I’m not that good at math but isn’t that 30 times more Democratic voters in the primary than Republican voters?

And, what did the leader of the great Republican hoards say about his chances in the election.

He expects to WIN!

Now there’s another Republican in touch with voters and this thing called Reality.

Well Done! the Macon Democrats!

Story from the Macon Telegraph. Voter turnout was 40%

    Mad Dog,

Not that I don’t appreciate your synopsis of things, but how about giving us your original links on these posts, :)

    Hoads,

Can’t you find the Macon Telegraph?

Mad Dog, you left out a great deal of detail in your analysis. You do know that nearly every Republican in the city crossed over to vote in the primary. I bet the turnout was so high among Republicans in reaction to the corrupt and inept Democratic power that they outnumbered Democrats in the Democratic primary.

    Doug,

    Nice spin.

    40 percent turnout.

Even if every Republican and Democratic vote cast against the Democratic victor had gone to ONE candidate, the outcome is unchanged.

But, I love the spin that Demoratic corruption spurred Republican crossover voting at more than a 30 to 1 ratio.

BTW, how much did the GOP candidates spin per vote?

Another detail I just happened to leave out of my analysis.

    Mad Dog,

I doubt more than a percent of Republican voters voted against the victor, so your point is silly. If the Republican votes were taken from Reichert, he would be in a runoff battle with Ponder, and would probably lose.

The Democrats have such a hard time picking decent candidates, they need the Republicans to pick their candidates for them.

    How pathetic.

I’m still stuck on your lame idea that REpublicans voted for corrupt Democrats!

Now, how much did those two Monolithic REpublicans spend per vote?
