The US Senate sells out
This is a letter sent to me about the immigration Bill that Phil sent out in protest to lawmakers. Do you agree or disagree with Phil?
As a registered Republican who is also livid at the sell out being orchestrated by the traitors who call themselves representatives of the people. The US legislative branch has been disconnected from the electorate on the issue of illegal aliens and unlawful immigration for years. I had the pleasure of listening to Rep. Dana Rohrabacher on CSPAN last night where he went over the details of S 1348 with a critical eye. He and many like him can see this sell out for what it is. I am curious if the CofC and moneyed interests have influenced your judgment as they have many on the hill. If you spent some time with D.A. King of The Dustin Inman Society, I am sure that you will change your tune. Let’s be honest. This is all about cheap labor and money being preferred over the American middle class and to further the integration of the USA with Mexico and Canada. What that happens America will no longer exist. I would hope that you would be able to see that. NAU, SPP, CAFTA, FTAA, LOST, etc. are obviously cogs in the wheel to establish the NWO. There is sufficient information in the public domain by the likes of Robert Pastor and his ilk at the CFR on the CFR web page, to make obvious to whomever wants to learn, our national sovereignty is being threatened and S 1348, if passed, would create a third world banana republic where the United States of America used to be. Wake up sir.
Ron Paul is the only one speaking the truth. Certainly not Saxby nor Johnny.
Regards,
Phil

The senate is doing its job. And Phil is doing his as a concerned citizen expressing his opinion.
The process is working.
How is the process working?
We are getting sold out!
Amnesty by any other name…

If the majority of Republicans feel this way then why aren’t they fielding a candidate against Saxby in the primary. Time to get started on that kind of thing is now I would imagine.
I read on PP Jim Marshall is already raising money.
Raising money for what? His reelection to the house?
This was another letter sent to me about the immigration Bill that was sent to Saxby and Johnny.
You have sold out our country to illegal immigrants. There is NO way you have the best interests of our country in mind with your support of this current amnesty bill.
It is amnesty when there is a carrot held out for all illegals to just come on in and stay longer enough to get their citizenship.
Your support of this Bill indicates that you do not care that illegals are taking jobs that low skilled American citizens need: the hotel industry, the body shop industry, the painting industry, roofing – the list goes on and this is only for low skilled jobs. Illegals are driving company vehicles and bidding on contracts. They are NOT just doing physical labor like harvesting peaches and onions. You are encouraging this at a time when the drop out rate in high schools is at an all time high. What jobs are these kids supposed to do? You either don’t care or you want to be blind to their needs or you want them to also be a drain on the economy.
Your support of this Bill shows that you only care about getting re-elected with money from lobbyists instead of the actual people you are supposed to represent!
I will do what I can to get you voted out of office.
The process of politics John. I know you have this distorted view that one legislator can ‘control congress’. But in the real world with neither side having anywhere close to an absolute majority, negotiation and compromise must take place.
In this case, both parties sent reps to the table, they hashed out a compromise with support from the president, then introduced legislation to be openly debated. Nothing has passed, there is no sellout, people like yourself get to scream and holler about how horrible the legislation would be. The process is working.
BART,
Why compromise over enforcing our immigration laws? What other laws do you not want to enforce?
bb’s point in post #8 is valid. So is John’s #9.
I’ve read many an article that states the needs for these workers, from farmers saying crops will rot if they don’t get help (hey America worker – there is a job out there) to this one that I found pretty interesting after a raid pretty much eliminated the work force:
http://www.planetizen.com/node/22597
A section of it points out an important fact about the American worker:
“But in the months since Crider began hiring hundreds of African-Americans, the answer has become more complex. The plant has struggled with high turnover among black workers, lower productivity and pay disputes between the new employees and labor contractors. The allure of compliant Latino workers willing to accept grueling conditions despite rock-bottom pay has proved a difficult habit for Crider to shake, particularly because the local, native-born workers who replaced them are more likely to complain about working conditions and aggressively assert what they believe to be legal pay and workplace rights.”
——————–
People need to understand how much the cost of living will raise if we don’t get workers to are willing to work hard and do a good job at a lower pay rate.
My issue about illegals over here is not about taking American jobs because they are willing to work cheaper. That is called competition. That is what America was built on.
My problem is they are here illegally, able to for free, use our social services that we pay for (thereby raising the prices of the services and goods they provide), not paying into the tax system, and not knowing who they are and where they are.
I’ve asked these question in other articles and postings and still have not gotten one answer.
Here is what I want to see:
All people from other countries here legally; documented, photo id, and finger printed; where they live known; employer known; paying their fair share into our tax system; speaking, reading and writing English; and border security.
What should the immigration policy be?
I don’t know why ICE doesn’t start with all the parking lots full of illegals. Wouldn’t this represent the “surplus” with our work force? And why would they target a large factory in a small town unless they were hoping for a sudden “rethinking” on the part of the pro-enforcement people. The raid at the chicken plant looks political.
The only folks with the ham-fisted draconian solutions seem to be the open borders crowd. Just because people are angry about immigration doesn’t mean we don’t have common sense. The only people talking about “rounding up 12 million illegals” is the open borders crowd who are simply trying to set up a straw man argument.
It’s very clear to me that most on this blog, while bright, are not willing to open their eyes to the future and current impact of hordes of third worlders flooding in. Guess they won’t understand until their loved ones are raped and murdered. Or killed by a drunk illegal.
Some utiltiy work was done in my front yard today. The individuals were clearly very mestisos by looks and none could speak English. (unlike the pretty intelligent looking immigrants the media parades in front of us). I was watching the workers, who had to be illegals (working for a sub-contractor). They were casing everything out. It was scary to think they might come back later, in their off time (3am??) This is our future, and it won’t be pretty!
