Time for an honest conversation on race
Why not?
Politico-After the election, the next president, be it John McCain or Barack Obama, should seize the moment to call on the nation to have an honest, painful and constructive conversation about race. That will be the moment for town halls and working groups, for understanding and instruction. It would be quite wonderful if enlightened members of Congress became public practitioners of and agents for racial luminosity.
Unlike the Archie Bunker days of my youth, most of the people of our nation will respond affirmatively to a call for a higher and nobler sensitivity. After all, there is no plant in our national garden that requires more diligent watering and vigilant weeding than cross-racial rationality. Sadly and unfortunately, our nation would, in the present atmosphere of the presidential campaign, handle that dialogue deplorably.

Can’t fault you all for your honest loathing and aversion for non-whites.
When he said its “..time for an honest conversation”, I obviously wrongly assumed it would be new and different and demonstrated much more humanity and love for your neighbor, even though you don’t entirely agree with their world view.
This is not a conversation, rather the sentiments of the average participant on the Stormfront.org forums.
What a terrible and unedifying article, validated by the terrible and unedifying commentary.
I guess this whole election is about race then?
It would be nice if Democrats quit trying to restrict the first amendment, and it would be nice if the “opponents” to the legislation who are always in the spotlight weren’t all “haters”. Because politics is about making friends not enemies right?
Caroline, in answer to your question in your post #2, I would say “no”. But “Race” is certainly a significant part of it.
But with that said, ALL the front runners are TRAITORS to the U.S., in my opinion!
To clarify my previous statement in regards to the following:
“That will be the moment for town halls and working groups, for understanding and instruction.”
Whenever the lapdog media starts espousing an idea it’s time to start asking WTF? This is top down control from the left. Nobody wants to be patronized, especially with taxpayer money. Some will take the bait and lash out against minorities. But the fact is this stuff is bogus. Workshops (an old commie standby) and now working groups, and “instruction”??? You have got to be kidding me. And now that “town halls” have gone mainstream it’s time for some scrutiny there too.
