Why the GOP has issues with minority outreach

I 100% agree with this post I saw on the Peach Pundit.

By Chris Farris

I received an email a few days ago, and the tactlessness of it has been bothering me for quite awhile. First there is the use of the racial slur. Then there is the message is that it is somehow bad or shameful to lose to an African-American. (offensive language & images behind the cut)

Considering the racial undertones practiced by the Clintons (remember Hillary saying ‘Obama hasn’t done the spade work to be president), how can this be attributed to Republicans?

I think Hugh might be the culprit and he long ago quit being a Republican.

  2. LeftHook Says:

I actually give her a pass on the “spade work” line (though not on much else of what went on in SC).

It’s a genuine gardening term and completely appropriate to the point she was making, in that context.

You would of not given the pass on a Republican.

    bb,
From your comment, it appears you’ve read nothing that I ever posted on the subject. How sad! As I’ve said before, the mind is a terrible thing to waste!

  5. Hugh Says:

    John and bb,
I posted Peter Brimelow’s comments on Buckley on the next page. These comments might change your mind about Buckley.
    Here’s the link:

I only post these here as you all would probably miss these as threads “move on”. bb had some pretty nasty things to say about me (as usual), so thought I would post the link here. To see bb’s nasty comments, you will have to go to the next page where the original subject of Buckley’s death was posted.

JohnKonop: Not so fast. It depends on the Republican. McCain, Romney, Guiliani, Huckabee… yes, I’d give them a pass.

Rush, Hannity, Rove, Bush, Santorium… No pass. Character and track records matter.

This letter only further demonstrates the point Chris made in his post. Anyone not offended needs real help!

    FROM BUZZ at PP

PP-While I agree with Chris’s larger point that when the GOP does stupid borderline racist or offensive things it hurts the Party’s standing with African-Americans, I will stick up for Bettye Chambers. She’s a fine person and valuable member of the GOP in this State.

I think the effort by some to have her removed from her position within the 9th District GOP is petty and counter-productive.

Here’s an email apology Bettye sent out at the urging of Hall GOP Chair Paul Stanley:

Dear Members of the 9th District

Yesterday it was brought to my attention that some people were offended by the content of an e-mail which I forwarded to friends on Friday evening, February 22. Paul Stanley of Hall County wrote me that he felt that it might be considered by some as racist. He copied 9th District Chairman Kevin Harris, and Kevin said that he had received some complaints on this. Please be assured that the 25 long-time conservative Republicans who have forwarded this to me are not at all racists. None of us judge a candidate by his/her color or gender, but rather by the content of their character, their platform and their record. We are all so focused upon keeping extreme liberals like Hillary and Obama out of our White House that e-mailers sometimes get carried away, I guess. If this offended anyone, I am truly sorry. Perhaps I am naive, but I did not consider it racist. Please note that this was not sent by me as Communications Director of the 9th District but just as an individual to friends — just as it was forwarded to me by many people. This one has been forwarded by so many people across the country that no one has any idea of its origin.

Please feel free to let me know at any time that you feel that anything that I send out for the district or that is posted on our website is inappropriate. Your suggestions for website content is always appreciated. It would be much better to tell me instead of complaining to Kevin, since he is very busy performing his duties as District Chairman — and doing an excellent job! I did appreciate Paul sending his opinion directly to me.

    BILLARY “Character and track records”?

    Help me understand!

    Hugh -

You sound more and more foolish with each of these inane posts.

Peter Brimelow is a coward who lacked the necessary testicles to say anything at all about Buckley until AFTER he died. Now there’s a “gutsy” guy. If you missed the sour grapes in the piece he wrote, you’re even more uninformed than I’d imagined.

I hope you like heat Hugh. You and your KKK buddies will be putting up with it for eternity.

Bart - Buckley was, without question, a great man and a true patriot. Hugh seems to think swastikas are fashionable and tiny moustaches make a “leader” look like a patriot.

  10. Hugh Says:

    SgtMac,
Sorry SgtMac, you’re wrong again, dreadfully wrong. Here’s just one article Brimelow wrote earlier about Buckley on “immigration”, a subject we have some agreement on, as you have admitted (thank you!)
    http://tinyurl.com/2ukpvr

And SgtMac, here’s an archive link on Buckley from Brimelow’s website - lot’s has been written over the years about Buckley that, very unfortunately, most “conservatives” are not aware if they listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and the likes of them.

You know SgtMac, it’s been said one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. I think that general concept might apply to you and I. The folks I revere are very different from the ones you revere. But, SgtMac, I really do believe I have the truth on my side!

ps. SgtMac, what did you think of Sam Francis? (he’s listed on the archive) Or do you even know of him? pps. He was a great man!

  11. SgtMac Says:

    Hugh

Despite your suggestions to the contrary, Brimelow was fired from the National Review not becasue of his ability to articualte a point in writing, but because his racist overtones became more and more pronounced. Brimelow is a classic example of sour grapes.

As for Sam Francis, I’d agree his points were more sensible than those of Brimelow. He actually wrote about forced integration in a reasoned, well thought-out way. He also spoke of “pride” being hammered home in the black community while insisting that the same hammering in the white community would be considered racist. In fact, I read an article of his some years back that stated categorically that “white pride” was akin to being called a nazi. On this point, he’s correct.

However, the problem is not one of black or white, or red or yellow. It’s one of multi-culturalsim taken to the extreme. Rather than call one’s self African-American or Polish-American or anything else-American, we should focus our efforts on being AMERICAN. You have a much differrent view on this point than I do. You see the “natural order” of things from a bigoted perspective and I believe that’s a false premise. We’re called the “UNITED” States for a reason.

As for Bill Buckley, in my view he was a patriot of the highest order. In fact, if you read Ann Coulter’s column you’ll find one of my favorite Buckley quotes; when asked by a reporter if he’d called Jesse Jackson in “ignoramous,” Buckley replied, “well, if I didn’t, I should have.”

You see, Jackson, Sharpton, screwy Louie Farrakhan and many, many others are racists through and through. Buckley was a man who firmly believed in the vision of the founders and he said so in many of the things he wrote. He was a uniter, not a divider as you and Brimelow seem to be. I found it interesting that he slammed Buckley at his party, but never mentioned that HE was even at the party as his wife lay close to death in a hospital. That should tell you something about him.

We agree on illegal criminal aliens Hugh, but that’s about all we agree on.

  12. Hugh Says:

    SgtMac,
    Thanks for your reply.

We are both very consistent with our views. You are clearly Neo-Con and the mantra is that “race” can not be considered in any manner, shape, or form, when discussing the various ills our society faces.

I, of course, believe “race” is basic to the human condition. It is our natural family to which we cleave. As you pointed out, look at the blacks and who they are supporting for president. They naturally support one of their own. And we hear the media refer to “black pride”. Yet if whites would open their eyes and vote for one of their own, they would be called racists. Same concept applies in the gender arena. If males support a male candidate over a female, the males are called sexist, but the reverse would not hold true. But with all this clear evidence of human behavior, your side attempts denial. At least you do note the hypocrisy in it all.

All over the world we are seeing a resurgence of the ordering of peoples by tribe or ethnicity or race, whatever you wish to call it. The tragedy of Kosovo is a very sad case in point. Kosovo was the historic capital of the Serbs, who happen to be orthodox Christian, as well as American allies in WWI. Malosivick, not an all around great guy, attempted to protect his people by repelling the Muslim invasion by the Albanians. Because of that, Clinton ordered us to bomb Kosovo. And now we see the Albanians flooding in and taking control of Kosovo, committing genocide on the Christians who went back centuries. The Albanian Muslims have applied to make Kosovo an independent state and the U.S. is supporting the move. Another example of anti-Christian bias by our government and a direct rebuttal of our stated policy that we don’t support race based nations. You see, it’s all a war on the white Christian, especially the male!

I hope that if the white man is able to reclaim a homeland that the Neo-Cons will not be allowed in that white homeland. I hope the Neo-Cons and their related allies are forced to live in the multicultural cesspool that they apparently so dearly desire! That would be very fair, wouldn’t it? And you do know that no one is happy in the multicultural environment - that fact has been proven everywhere. Hence the reason why I add the tag “cesspool”.

  13. Hugh Says:

    SgtMac,
I have a comment back to you, but it’s tied up in moderation. Don’t know why as the language is perfectly clean!?
